Welcome to 1999...Come to coffee hour and view the Rose Bowl Parade and the Rose Bowl Game and other college games in the afternoon. Tuesday, 5th: Today is Man's Day!! National Groom­ing Week for Men is celebrated this week. In honor of our male residents, a pampering grooming ses­sion will be held in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, 7th: In honor of the Greek Orthodox Christmas, a luncheon will be held at 12:00 Noon in the Solarium. Time seems to pass by so quickly anymore...It seems as though we've just finished celebrating Christmas and here it is, just around the corner. The following poem will bring back some special memo­ries. CHRISTMAS THOUGHTS Let's think of Christmas and all that it mean For it's more than Christmas carols, More than sparkling evergreens; It's more than the holly-wreath hung on the The dolls and the toys that each child longs for. Friday, 8th: Sign up day for upcoming Resident Flea Market Sale. Details to be posted and announced. Tuesday, 12th: Book Club discussion held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, 14th and 15th: Resident Flea Market Sale from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Saturday, 16th: Della's Petting Zoo at 1:30 p.m. in the Solarium. Sunday, 17th through the 23rd is National Activity Professionals' Week. Monday, 18th: Martin Luther King Day. It's the cheery "hello" of friends far and near, The warmth of our homes with loved ones so dear. It's the good will to men that we bear in our hearts And the spirit of hope that this season imparts. Yes, Christmas means this, but, oh, so much more! Saturday, 23rd: In honor of National Pie Day, a Pie Eating Contest and treat will be held in the afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m. f Wednesday, 27th: In honor of National Popcorn month, a treat will be distributed in the afternoon. Thursday, 28th: A soup and sandwich lunch will be held in the Solarium at 12:00 Noon. Yes, these are the thoughts Christmas brings unto me As I sit in my home 'neath the bright Christmas tree. Lord, help me always to think first of Thee. THANK YOU Many "Thanks" to the families, staff and friends of Be­thlen Home who donated prom gowns, mother of the bride dresses, etc. You helped to create a fun evening for our resident's at the Harvest Ball. "Thanks" to Robert Johns for his recent donation of books, etc. to our Library. We appreciate your kindness, and the picture books are just wonderful. The residents have really enjoyed looking at them. I'm sure they'll bring many hours of pleasure.
