UPCOMING SUMMER EVENTS During the next several months, the following events will be held, along with regular scheduled programs. Residents will be able to review events weekly by viewing the bulletin boards located near each Nursing Station and listening to announcements. JUNE HIGHLIGHTS Saturday, 1st: In honor of National Dairy and Yogurt Month, a treat of ice cream will be distributed room to room during the afternoon. Monday, 3rd: National Donut Day will be celebrated by treating you to your favorite type of donut during the breakfast meal. JULY HIGHLIGHTS Monday, 1st: In honor of National Ice Cream Day, an ice cream social will be held in the afternoon offering all your favorite treats such as ice cream sundaes, milk shakes and sodas. Wednesday, 3rd:Cookout will be held on the first floor patio. Tuesday, 4th: National Frozen Yogurt Day is celebrated this day. The Activity Department will be holding a yogurt tasting social during the afternoon hours. All are welcome to attend. Wednesday, 5th: A picnic outing is scheduled at one of our local parks, weather permitting. If raining, the outing will turn into lunch at your favorite restaurant. Thursday, 6th: Sunshine Brother's Clothing Wagon will be here from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with their summer selections for purchase. Friday, 7th: Cookout on the patio and all are welcome to attend. Saturday, 8th: Ice cream treat to be distributed. Sunday, 9th: Ligonier Community Choir (Lights of Valley) will hold it's service at 3 p.m. in the Dining Room. Thursday, 13th: Outing for men only. The Activity Department will be honoring our male Residents in honor of Father's Day. Friday, 14th: Flag Day and what better way to celebrate then to have a cookout. A special patriotic program will be presented by the Fischer Family, to be held rain or shine. Saturday, 15th: A pie social for men only in honor of Father's Day. Sunday, 16th: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY FELLOWS!'-----Monday, 17th: National Hog Calling Day . . .guess what folks, you guessed it. We're having a hog calling contest which will be held in the afternoon. Details will be posted, so start preparing that call!!! Friday, 21st: The first day of "SLIMMER!" What better way to celebrate then to have a Fresh Fruit Cocktail hour in the afternoon. After all, it's National Fruit and Vegetable Month. Wednesday, 26th: Outing is scheduled. Details to be announced. Thursday, 4th: HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Friday, 5th: Happy Hour will be held in the afternoon featuring a specialty drink of the day. Saturday, 6th: Ice cream treat to be distributed. Thursday, 11th: Outing scheduled. Watch for details. Friday, 12th: National Peach Day and refreshments of items made with peaches will be served. Sunday, 14th: Lights of the Valley Service will be held in the afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Dining Room. All are welcome to attend. Thursday, 18th: Cookout to be held on first floor patio. Friday, 19th: Happy Hour to be held in the afternoon; watch for details. Saturday, 20th: Ice cream treat to be distributed. Thursday, 25th: Outing scheduled; watch for deatils. Friday, 26th: July is known for being National Blueberry Month. Refreshments of blueberry items will be held in the afternoon. Saturday, 27th: Ice cream treat to be distributed. Wednesday, 31st: Bing cherries to be served. AUGUST HIGHLIGHTS Thursday, 1st: Cookout to be held on first floor. Thusday, 8th: Outing scheduled. Saturday, 10th: Blueberry pie to be distributed to Residents in the afternoon. Sunday, 11th: Lights of the Valley Service to be held at 3 p.m. in the Dining Room. Hope to see you there. Monday, 12th: Outing scheduled; watch for details. Tuesday, 13th: Left Hander's party...no you don't have to be left handed to join in on the fun, but you will find out what it's like to be left handed. Thursday, 27th: Cookout to be held on first floor patio. Friday, 28th: June's Birthday Party to be held in the afternoon. Saturday, 29th: Ice cream treat to be distributed. Thursday, 15th: Cookout to be held on first floor patio. Friday, 16th: Elvis Day is celebrated today. Come to the Elvis Party and join in on the fun.
