pbart ta picart ¥ ¥ ¥ HEARTFELT "THANKS" I would like to take this opportunity to "Thank" the Mary Peffer Family for their recent memorial donation to the Activity Department. Because all of our Staff worked hard in caring for Mary, I felt it was only appropriate that the funds be shared with all Departments and all of Mary's Resident friends. Your donation was used to provide a cookout which everyone enjoyed during National Nursing Home Week. Entertainment was by the Blair Elton Band and the catering was from Hoffers'. Again many "Thanks" for your kindness and thoughtfulness. "Thanks" to Rev. Kaiser for his recent donation of the portable public address system to the Activity Department. It will work out nicely during church services and other various activities throughout The Home. Many "Thanks" to the John Mitchell family for their memorial donation to the Activity Department. We appreciate your kindness. Your funds will be used toward a piz-^a party social, etc. throughout the year. Again, thank you for your thoughtfulness. Many "Thanks" to the Volunteers who have been helping out with the outings, picnics, etc. throughout the summer. Your hard work is very much appreciated by the Staff and Residents. Many "Thanks" to Volunteer Nellie Welty for her recent donation to the Activity Department. Your donation will be used toward purchasing Bingo prizes and several lunch outings on our shopping days at the mall. Thanks again for all your help and kindness. LATE NOVEMBER November's a crone, withered and spent, Mumbling on doorsteps in her discontent, Grieving for days that will not come again, Weeping her dismal tears on the pane; She holds the last faded leaf to her breast Moaning in minor tones full of unrest; She drags her drab tatters over the land Casting a spell by the touch of her hand; She wanders the desolate field and hill, Forlornly seeking blossom, still, Until she finds peace in winter's first snow And dreams as she sleeps of joy long ago. lét #*# * SANTA WORKSHOP WEEK The Activity Department will start its Christmas Decorating throughout the home starting the day after Thanksgiving Residents are encouraged to have their family or friends bring their decorations in to decorate their rooms. If you have decorations and need assistance, the Activity Department and Volunteers will be sponsoring a Santa Workshop Week starting December 9th through the 14th. During this time, Volunteers and Staff will be available to assist in decorating your room, wrapping any Christmas gifts that you may have, addressing Christmas cards and any packages that may need to be mailed. Christmas cards and gift wrap will be available in the Activity Room. You are also welcome to come and do your own wrapping, if you prefer to do so. Details will be announced and posted closer to the time. So remember to dig out those lights and tinsel.
