SUMMER ISSUE • JUNE • JULY • AUGUST • 1996 P.O. Box 657, Ligonier, PA 15658-0657 ACTIVITY STAFF HAS NEW ADDITIONS!! In March the Activity Staff, which was once Bobbi and Sherry, welcomed two new smiling faces to their department, who will be working as Activity Aides. "WELCOME" to Jean Sears and Florence Wood! We are looking forward to working with you. Both are very familiar with working in a long term care facility. Flo was a volunteer here for many years. She also furthered her education in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. Before coming back to Bethlen Home to join us in the Activity Department, which was her first love, she worked for a home health agency. We're glad you're back Flo. We've missed you. Jean has also worked in Activities before at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Greensburg. She recently came out of retirement from being a former Activity Director. She enjoys working with the elderly and missed being around them. We couldn't have asked for a better choice to join our department. We're so glad you came out of retirement for us Jean. This year's theme was "EXPLORE THE WONDER .......VOLUNTEER!" which dealt with an under the sea theme of decorations throughout the Dining Room. The program opened with our Resident Volunteer President, Olga Szabo giving the welcome. An inspiration invocation was given by Activity Staff Member Florence Wood. Needless to say Flo, you had us all in tears by giving us the true spirit of Volunteering. This year's presentation of the Volunteer of the Year Award went to Nellie Welty who has been a volunteer here since 1991.
