^xttírít]j .Acttínt^ píígljítgljts A PRAYER FOR THANKSGIVING by Harriet Feltham Lord, bless the bounties of this table And the length that it extends, Making room for all the children Plus the neighbors and our friends. Bless the beauty of the springtime And the heat of harvest day, Bringing crops to feed the family And enough to store away. Bless the cozy home that holds us Through the rains and winter storm With a fireplace thats glowing And the wood to keep us warm. Bless the health that gives us courage For the tasks we have to do, And the power to enjoy it When a hard day's work is through. Make us grateful for the little things ^ That chance to pass our way, Making life seem extra special, all When comes Thanksgiving Day. (five /AawJib EVERYONE LOVES A PUPPY Recently Pat Armel, our Social Service person, purchased a seven week old chocolate Lab puppy. Cute...loveable...those big brown eyes, who could resist. Certainly not the Residents and Staff. Everyone made a fuss over him, especially those Residents who are unable to leave their rooms. The popular name for the puppy was Bear! We encourage Pat to bring Bear in for a visit anytime. I don't think you'll have to worry about a babysitter. Pictured is resident Alice Mae Cochran making a fuss over Bear. THIS IS NOVEMBER by Harriet C. Whipple Frost on the rooftops, Dew on the grass, Leaves drifting down Wherever we pass; Wet windy weather, Leaves piling up Though raked every day. Ice on the puddles, Trees almost bare; Mornings are chilly, Breath on the air. Squirrels are still busy, Where nuts can be found, Hiding their treasures In hollows around. Darkness comes early, It's cozy indoors With apples and popcorn And books to explore. The harvest is in And all stored away; Watch for the snowflakes To come any day. pbart to píeari Many "Thanks" to Nancy and Craig Robertson for their hard work in preparing wood projects for our Fund Raiser. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, to all the Volunteers for their endless hours of time during the picnics, outings, special programs, etc. I know many times you could be spending your time in a much cooler place! Many "Thanks" to Marge and Anthony McCarty for their beautiful music they supplied to our Residents and their families during the Mother's Day Tea. Special "Thanks" to Volunteer Nellie Welty for her donations to the Activity Department. Your thoughtfulness and kindness is very much appreciated by our Department as well as the Residents. Special "Thanks" to "BABE" for the great wall papering job he did in the Activity Room. Do you do windows?
