"Life over there and life over here is all in eternity” On Easter Sunday, Jesus Christ rose from the dead. On this has been built our Christian religion. Without this fact it could not exist. And this Jesus Christ who rose from the dead also said, "Because I live, you will live also.” John 14:19. Is there anything greater, more powerful Easter message than this? When Oliver Cromwell was dying, he turned to his weeping friends, saying: “Is there no one who will praise the Lord?” To him, life beyond death was a certainty. In his book, the last chapter, which was entitled “DEATH”, contained only three words: “To be continued.” Life, my friends, is for each of us only the first chapters in a continued story, and death a few difficult moments leading into the triumphant climax. Life over here and life overthere ... And we are now in eternity, the mortal side of eternity. Our loved ones who have passed over are in the immortal side of eternity. Do you see sometimes through your window, from our beautiful hill, the sunset? As the night is falling, the sun as a red ball of fire, swiftly drops in the western sky beneath the horizon. The sun has gone for that day, but is it not a miracle to realize that for someone on the other side of the world it is not the sunset, but the sunrise? So it is in life. For many, who have no belief in the immortality of the soul, death is the sunset of life, the end. There is nothing more. But, for others who possess the living hope, there is no end to our existence. Do you hear the Easter message? “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 National Nurses’ Day and Employee Recognition Day will be held on Friday the 13th, with a luncheon inthe Nurses’ honor. In honor of National BBQ Month and Hamburger Month, we will be planning a cookout for the first of the season (weather permitting) on Friday the 20th.
