MEXICAN WEEK Each year, the Activity Department holds a special theme of a country during National Nursing Home Week. This year, the residents took a trip to Mexico, and a fun week was had by all. Among some of the activities held for the residents were an outing to Chi Chi’s Restaurant and a Mexican Party with entertainment provided by a Mexican band. An afternoon social was held at the end of the week, serving everyone’s favorite drink, Margaritas, along with some favorite Mexican fingerfoods. Where should we travel next? DID YOU KNOW?? The month of JUNE is known for: • National Dairy Month • Turkey Lovers Month • Fruit and Vegetable Month • Rose Month • Zoo and Aquarium Month • National Donut Day • Flag Day • Father’s Day The month of JULY is known for: • Anti Boredom Month • National Baked Bean and Hot Dog Month • Ice Cream Month • Blueberry Month • Picnic Month • National Ice Cream Day • National Cheer Up the Lonely Day • Fourth of July The month of AUGUST is known for: • Romance Awareness Month • Friendship Day • National Smile Week • Daughter’s Day • Family Day • Watermelon Day • Be Kind to Humankind Week • National Joke Day “BIRTHDAY GREETINGS” to the following residents who will be celebrating their special day in the coming months. Each month, a Birthday Party will be held in their honor. Details will be posted at each nursing station bulletin board. Family and friends are welcome to attend and join in on the festivities. Private parties are also available but you must call and make reservations to reserve the Solarium. To reserve the room, contact Sherry Humbertson at 238- 6711 Mondaythrough Friday, 9a.m. to5 p.m. Reservations are made according to scheduled programs and inservices.
