Details of where­abouts will be posted. The Activity Department is always up for suggestions. JULY In honor of Independence Day, a special cookout will be held out on the first floor patio. A special treat of ice cream will also be distributed to residents on Friday the 3rd. National Recreation Week will be held during the week of the 5th to the 12th. Special outdoor activities such as cookouts, volleyball, croquet, sponge throw, etc. will be planned. A special watermelon treat will be distributed on Friday the 10th. A special cookout is planned for Friday the 17th, with a special theme planned. National Ice Cream Week is celebrated during the week of the 19th to the 25th. An ice cream tasting program is planned for the afternoon of the 20th. A variety of flavors will be served. An ice cream treat will be distributed on Friday the 24th. A Polka Day is planned for the 30th. A party, along with special entertainment, is planned. Acookout is planned forthe31st. Detailsto be posted. AUGUST A Family Day is planned for Sunday the 2nd. Special entertainment and refreshments will begiven. Details of thisevent will be posted, and families are welcome to attend the event. A Beauty Contest will be held for our lady residents. There will be two days of events that the ladies will have to go through. Judging will be held on both days, and the winner will be announced on the 7th. Elvis Week will be held from the 9th to the 15th. Who knows, maybe Elvis will be seen at Bethlen Home??? Special programs will also be held this week to go with this event. A special party will be held on the 13th honoring “Elvis”. National Popcorn Day is on Friday the 14th. Different flavors will be available for tasting during the afternoon. A watermelon treat will be passed out on the 15th. A wine and cheese party is planned for the afternoon of the 31 st, which is a Monday. What a way to start the week!! HOME GETS NEW BUS Residents recently enjoyed an outing to the local Dairy Queen on the new bus. This bus is able to seat more residents and carry more wheelchair patients. The lift is also located in the rear of the bus, which allows more comfortable entry for the ambulatory residents in the front. The wheelchair lift also carries several other safety features which helps the resident to feel more safe and secure while riding it. The residents are looking forward to their next trip.
