SPECIAL OUTING mtMtv fyígfjltgljt* SUMMER HIGHLIGHTS Residents recently enjoyed several outings to Mountain Playhouse and Green Gables for dinner. The residents enjoyed seeing the musical Annie Get Your Gun. A most delightful afternoon and evening was enjoyed by all. The cast performance was excellent. Regular picnics are held during the summer months at Bethlen Home. Residents recently enjoyed one of the cookouts having their old time favorites of hot dogs and hamburgers for their entree. Pictured below are several pictures from these programs. Pictured arc several residents and junior volunteers Heidi Caldwell and Littdsev Morhack Residents enjoy one of many cookouts held by the Activity Department during the summer months. JOHNSTOWN FLOOD MUSEUM One of the most memorable and most educational outings for our residents was held recently at the Johnstown Flood Museum. There residents were able to view and learn the history of the Johnstown Flood of 1889 through the Academy award winning documentary film. When the tour concluded the residents were taken to the new restaurant over the Johnstown Incline, a sight to behold. The residents as well as the volunteers were breath taken at this view. Pictured are several residents enjoying the view from the Incline Restaurant. Your traditional hay fever and bugs can't keep this gang of residents away from heading toward the mountains for a hayride and barbecue at the Swiss Chalet. Unfortunately everyone was a little wet due to the thunderstorm. But this didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirit. After the hayride ended the residents enjoyed a traditional barbecue with all the fixings. Special Thanks to the management of Swiss Chalet for helping to make this outing a success! Residents and volunteers enjoy a traditional hayride in spite of the weather WESTMORELAND AIR SHOW Residents recently had the opportunity to go to Latrobe Aiiport to watch various types of planes practice for the air show that was held recently. Residents were also able to enjoy meeting several pilots during lunchtime. Below are several pictures taken from the outing. RAIN OR SHINE Rain or shine you can always find the residents here at the Bethlen Home ready for a picnic. The residents have been enjoying several picnic outings at volunteer homes and local parks as well as taking advantage of our own beautiful patios here at the Bethlen Home. Pictured are resident Elizabeth Toth and employee Scott Palmer trying to beat the rain drops while preparing for the Mother's Day Luncheon Picnic. Residents enjoy helping to prepare and plan the menu and food. Lately, however, the Activity Department seems to be having a stroke of bad luck when it comes to dealing with mother nature.
