A Photo Review of Valued Past Members ;ia Pflum the President Albert St. >13, in October 7, Cook of the Week Maria Kovács prepares Cup Cake Train Project Kathy A. Megyeri O ften we are asked about the people who have made HRFA so successful throughout the years, and so, we need to pay homage to the many who have dedicated themselves to our organization, sometimes for decades. Leafing through old issues of the Fraternity magazine, Fm reminded of the fact that although these valued members may have aged, their commitment and allegiance to this organization hasn’t waned. In fact, some began their affiliation because of their parents’ foresight; others liked the activities they attended, the picnics they enjoyed as children and then adults, the opportunities to speak Hungarian, the spiritual renewal of attending church services with family and friends, the joy of attending cultural events and reconnecting with their Hungarian heritage, the comfort of knowing that the Bethlen Communities would welcome them when family and friends could no longer care for them, the financial security of having a policy or annuity with HRFA, the knowledge that their branch manager, fraternal coordinator, or home office staff would answer their questions, the comrad- ery of like-minded individuals who would look out for them when a need arose or a disaster struck, the fraternal activities like Join Hands Day that bonded them to a larger community, and the feeling of empowerment that resulted from being part of a larger fraternal organization, the National Fraternal Congress of America. For all these reasons and more, HRFA’s President, Home Office Staff, and I say “Thank you” for you have made us what we are today, and we are grateful for your years of service. Although space doesn’t allow us to remember each of you, we hope to continue our photo retrospect in upcoming issues to celebrate our past and say, “HRFA family, we are proud of you and appreciate your years of service.” rviautt-n ( Secretary to a (5 tO it 1 (\ «I L & — >-sCi 0M ÉTIÉ
