Winter 2010 Branch 176 — Gary, IN Folk dancers at the festival The 4th Global Friendship Foundation’s Festival Visiting in Sarasota, Florida, I was invited to attend the 4th Global Friendship Foun­dation’s festival. The turnout was great. We had about 1500 people over two days. The number of young Hungarians was astounding to me. There were dancers, Hungarian school children’s performan­ces, bands and great food. It was a very fun and educational weekend. I passed out a few of our HRFA brochures. Homemade Noodles for Fundraisers Every Tuesday, there are about 20 members making homemade noodles for fundraisers for the Hungarian Holy Trin­ity Church in E. Chicago, Indiana. We are also getting ready for our annual shoe box project and Kossuth Club Christmas Party. I would like to wish all my members and their families a Blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Bethlen Communities raised $3,100 + for the Memory Walk. Ms. Rita Boynton, a former Board Member of Bethlen Home Communities, passed away in April. The Alzheimer’s Association honored Rita for her support and dedica­tion to the Alzheimer patients and their caregivers. Rita’s family was present to accept the honor in memory of Rita.
