BRANCH NEWS BRANCH NEWS BRANCH 13 - Passaic, NJ Szeretettel gratulálunk Hamar Andreának, aki február 15-én megkeresztelkedett a Passaic-i Magyar Református Templomban. Andreát Vásárhelyi József lelkipásztorunk és püspökhelyettes kersztelte meg. Ezzel az ünnepélyes alkalommal élete Isten áldásával folytatódik, s kívánjuk, kísérje életét és maradjon vele. Tóth Ilona, Branch 13, 93 Manager and Fraternal Administrator BRANCH 35 - Detroit, Ml At our annual meeting in February, members elected Louise Vespremi to be the president of Branch 35 in 2009. Louise is a long time faithful member of the HRFA, does countless hours of volunteer work and participates in all of our projects. At a young age, Louise attended summer school under the leadership of Rev. and Mrs. Novak and learned a great deal about the federation from them. They played a significant role in her dedication. Her entire family, the parents, five brothers and five sisters, all together 35 of them, were dedicated members of HRFA. She remembers well when they started the Branch in Monanville, WV. In those days, her brother and she used to go on Saturdays to collect the payments. Together with her actively involved brothers, she attended many district meetings, went on a trip to Hungary organized by the HRFA and in the 60’s, she proudly represented her district with Bishop Abraham at the convention. We wish her success in fulfilling this office. We also would like to thank our former president John Bujdoso who filled this office for many years. John and his family are also longtime members of the HRFA. We wish him and his wife good health, much happiness and God’s blessings on their lives. Katalin Varga, Branch 35 Manager and Fraternal Administrator BRANCH 151 - Beaver Falls, PA We started our Easter celebration on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 5 p.m. Our time together began by coloring eggs on a long table covered in purple, the sign of royalty. There were many baskets of cooked eggs, many cups of liquid colors, and designs that the children could use to make the eggs festive by adding vibrant spring colors. The children, ranging in ages from 2 to 15 years old, delighted in making their creations. After the eggs were colored, they were displayed on a beautiful plate with green grass that accented the colored eggs. Afterwards, we made tomb cookies to show that Christ’s tomb was empty on Resurrection morning which helped the children understand that Christ rose from the grave following His crucifixion, His death, and His burial. The children played a part in this story by reading the Biblical account. Then, we had pizza with salads and beverages, with parents in attendance. Each child received a basket with chocolate and the eggs they colored. Our evening closed in appreciation of our fellowship with one another.
