In the report to the Church Council, Cindy thanked her contacts, church members, HRFA Branch 15, 151 and 202, and all the other “Good Samaritans” who helped. A special thanks to the HRFA Home Office help with the transportation logistics and the generous financial assistance. Bert Olah, Branch Manager (412) 521-3412 Thanks to Branch Manager Bert Olah for participating in HRFA ’s fraternal and community projects. Branch 202 reported the collection of 24 boxes of clothes for the Appalachian project (that were later re-assigned to the fire victims) and a phone-book collection for 2006 JOIN HANDS DAY. The branch pledged to participate in Operation Christmas Child in 2007. M9 = Mtisssisj @li) On March 4, 2007, Branch 227 of Warren, OH held its annual meeting in the Fellowship Hall, following church service at the Covenant Presbyterian Church. The following officers were elected for 2007: Marge Nicholas - President, Barbara Nagy Sember (a lifelong member of HRFA) - Vice President, Bill Nicholas - Secretary-Treasurer. During the meeting plans were made for the calendar year for fraternal activities and community outreach projects. For JOIN HANDS DAY we will be baking and preparing cookies for our veterans at the VA Hospital in Brecksville, OH. Hungarian pastries and coffee was served for all those who attended the meeting. Marge Nicholas, Melissa Hawkins & Barbara Nagy Sember On Saturday, March 24, 2007, the play “Juliet: A Dialogue about Love” by Hungarian author András Visky was performed by actress Melissa Hawkins at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Warren, Ohio. András Visky is the dramaturge of the State Hungarian Theatre in Cluj, Romania, an associate professor at the University of Babes-Bolyai, and the writer of several plays. “Juliet: A Dialogue about Love” is a true story of a mother, whose love for her husband and for God landed her in the Gulag. When the Transylvanian author found his mother’s journal of her struggles, he knew he had to write this drama. Working as a company actress in Budapest’s Studio K, Melissa Hawkins was handed the newly translated script of “Juliet”. She immediately fell in love with it as “an uncompromising marriage of faith and art”. Present at the meeting were Jules Balogh, Les & Kathy Megyeri, Frank & Eva Kapitan, Ákos & Kati Nagy, Erika Mason, Marianne Schattenstein, Sándor Nagy and Imre Lendvai-Lintner. The following officers were elected at the meeting: President—Sándor Nagy; Vice-President—Kathy Megyeri; Secretary—Kati Nagy; and Treasurer—Erika Mason. Activities planned for the year, besides the activities planned by the Home Office are the following: JOIN HANDS DAY, Mother’s Day, Operation Christmas Child, and Christmas Party. In addition to assisting and participating in the Home Office activities already mentioned in the previous Fraternities, Branch 300 participated in a roundtable forum to discuss the 1956 Revolution, a Mother’s Day picnic, JOIN HANDS DAY projects organizing clothes at a donation center (2006) and Kenilworth Rev.
