Joseph Meszlenyi, new member of Branch 4, is the joy and happiness of the parents Mr. & Mrs. John Meszlenyi and his proud grandparents László and Elizabeth Meszlenyi. HRFA Home Office and Branch 35 welcome Marie Stephanie Shearer, who brings much happiness to the Shearer and Boroznaki families. The proud parents, James and Marie Shearer (mother has been a member since 1989) and happy grandparents Steve (member since 1959) and Marie Boroznaki, inform us that Marie is a very happy little girl. Helen I Szabó Director The Student Aid Fund of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America is accepting donations. Since we are a tax-exempt fraternal organization, the amount of your contribution is deductible from your personal income taxes. Your generous donation allows many young members of the HRFA to partake in the wonderful opportunities higher education has to offer. As one of its many fraternal benefits, the HRFA offers a one-time financial assistance of S600 to our young members who are pursuing a college education. It is intended that this scholarship be applied towards the cost of tuition, fees, books, or room and board. All students who fulfill the following requirements may apply: • Must be a member of the HRFA for at least five years immediately preceding the date of application for the scholarship. He or she must be a member in good standing, i.e., applicant’s policy is not lapsed or matured. Policy must be whole life. • Should be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate day student in an accredited four-year college or university. The scholarship is not available to first- year college students. It is only granted to those who are in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th years and have earned good grades for the courses completed. The applicant should contact his or her Branch Manager or the Home Office to receive an application form. Once this form is completed, the applicant should send it to the Branch Manager or the Home Office together with a transcript. The Home Office will review and process the application. When approved, a check will be sent to the applicant. Samuel Muzsnai, member of Branch 300: My name is Samuel Muzsnai, I was bom in Budapest, Hungary, in 1985. My father studied at the Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., between 1987 and 1992. During that time, I lived in Maryland, USA, with my parents. Since 1992,1 have lived and study in Budapest, Hungary. I am currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate day student in the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics. During the evenings and weekends, I work for the Bethesda Hospital for Children of the Reformed Church of Hungary as a driver in an emergency vehicle. I also volunteer for Ambulance and Emergency Service of Malta Hungary as a driver and as an assistant. I am an active member of our local church, named Pasarét Reformed Church.
