Operation Christinas Child is a simple way to show the love of God. In the month of October, we began the project at our new Brighton Christian Church. 1 was able to take the shoe boxes to the local drop off area in Wexford, PA, each Sunday (now three services) and Wednesday and distribute boxes for the people to fill with gifts. At the end of the month, they were returned filled with gifts and photos for the children. We were able to pack 195 boxes for Christmas for the less fortunate children around the world to enjoy God’s far reaching love. Doing this project has taught our children to reach out to others and share the Christmas joy. I want to thank Pastor Mike and Sue Kohlman for all their help and support. 1 also would like to thank Julie DeSantes, Renee Maldonato and Jodi Fleishman, as well as Olga Darnay and Mariann Nagy. Peggy Fabri Hurricane Katrina Relief: Alexa DeSantes and her friends, Courtney Kifér and Kim Greenstein, are ten years old. They decided to collect money for those who were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Alexa, Kim and Courtney went around their neighborhood and collected $28 from their young friends who wanted to be a part of helping others so they gave of their money that they had worked for. All the funds raised were given to Alexa who took it to her Sunday School class at the missionary alliance church and told how they wanted to help other children. I thank those who shared in giving of their money to help others. Alexa DeSantes is the daughter of Jeff and Julie DeSantes. Alexa had open heart surgery on June 27 2006, and she is doing well. She was given permission from her doctors to go to school as well as to go back to cheerleading which she loves. Overall Alexa has a heart to help others, and wherever there is a need, she is available. 50th Anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution: Remembrance of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution was held on October 21. It was a beautiful day at the lovely Penn Scenic View. The array of beautiful trees and the setting was perfect for this event. People came from many different parts of the country. Before the program began, we had the chance to socialize with friends, some of whom we have not seen in a long time, and we were able to share our experience of what took place in the USA for the last 50 years. Sadly, many Freedom Fighters have passed away since then, but they will never be forgotten. Page 10 Fraternity - Testvériség
