Page 12 Fraternity- Testvériség husband good-bye. So before David would go off to work, I would have to kiss him good-bye. After the kiss, I’d wipe off my mouth. He said real people don’t do that, so we had to kiss until we got it right. Katie, Cleveland, OH If I received my first kiss when I was born. My mother most surely kissed me when the doctors gave me to her, although I can actually remember the kiss that came from my grandmother we would call “Nagymama.” I was around seven at the time, and she was around eighty. My grandmother once came to visit us after not seeing me for a long time. She called me over to her and gave me THE kiss. Since she had no dentures, the kiss was wet and sloppy, like my dog’s. After she kissed me, there was a wet mark on my cheek. I will never forget that kiss. Noel, Sarasota, FL V When I was eight years old, I was in the 2nd grade, and after the school day, 1 would go to a babysitter with my friend and his older brother. A girl named Melissa would find me after school every day and kiss me. Since I was young, I didn't want the girls kissing me, so I would try to hide. But this girl would always find me and kiss me. If I were to go back in time and change anything, instead of running, I would kiss her back. Craig, Miami, FL If I appeared in the world on June 2, 1982. I couldn’t see anything; however, I could feel things. The first thing that I felt was someone’s hands, but I didn’t know whose they were. A little later on, 1 felt other hands touching me, and that same person held me against his/her heart and gave me a kiss. I didn’t react or move, but at least, I felt it. It was the first kiss I ever received. Who knows who it was... .Mom’s or Dad’s? Christine, Rockville, MD If I was at summer youth camp, and the last day, they held a dance. I was dancing with a girl I really liked. During the middle of the song, we moved closer and closer together till we were almost breathing the same air. I wanted to do this for a long time, but I never had the guts to. At the end of the song, 1 finally built up enough courage and kissed her. We haven’t spoken to each other since then. If I ever see her again, I might do it again. Stephen, Yardley, PA V In kindergarten, my class was on a field trip to the local history museum. All year long, I had hated this little boy in my class. We had had an on-going relationship in kindergarten that consisted of teasing and sticking out our tongues at each other. When we found out on the field trip that we were in the same group, we immediately gave one another nasty looks. But as we walked along the halls looking at dinosaurs, I honestly thought I had been struck by “cupid’s arrow.” 1 picked up the boy’s hand, hugged it to my cheek and kissed it. From then on, we were boyfriend and girlfriend. Maria, Frankenmuth, PA If I was in kindergarten and thought all little boys had cooties. Once, when I was playing on the monkey bars, a boy, 1 do not recall his name, ran up to me and gave me a big, fat kiss! I wiped it off my cheek and yelled loudly, “Phewwwwüü” I then ran to the teacher and told on him. That was my first and last kiss from that little boy. Kristin, Skokie, IL If I remember it like it was yesterday....the first day that I saw Bailey with his cute, shiny, golden, brown hair and those cute, puppy dog eyes. My mother went to pick him up from the owner’s house and then brought him home. The moment I saw him, he ran to me, jumped on me, and gave me a huge, wet, slobbery kiss all over my face. It was our new Golden Retriever puppy. He was so cute and fuzzy that I couldn’t resist kissing him back. From then on, until we had to put him to sleep, we exchanged our kisses each day. Although it wasn’t my first kiss, or even with a person, it’s one I will surely remember for the rest of my life. Lisa, Norwalk, CT $■ Kossuth House On March 1, 2006 the Kossuth House hosted a meeting with Dr. Janos Horvath, a senior member of the Parliament of Hungary, about the upcoming Dr. Janos Horvath elections in Hungary. The attendees found out about the opportunities for Hungarian citizens living in the United States to participate in the elections. After three tries Marianne Schattenstein, Branch 300 member, got a chance to tell Dr. Horvath how much she enjoyed his presentation.
