Fraternity- Testvériség Page 4 Lastly, I welcome our new President, Mr. Gyula Balogh, who is an experienced insurance executive and Mrs. Kati Levay-Nagy, his executive assistant. We are a good team and work together to serve you, our esteemed members, to the best of our abilities. We do so that HRFA will prosper with your help for the next 100 years with God's blessings. Leslie L. Megyeri Introducing our new President & CEO Mr. Jules Gyula Balogh I am honored to have been entrusted with the growth and management of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. My vision is to build an organization with the help of George Dózsa, Les Megyeri, and the Board that will be able to compete successfully in the modem financial services arena, thus ensuring the long term future of HRFA. We will utilize the new marketing and sales management techniques used successfully by the big firms, yet keep our high quality of personalized service and fraternal benefits, which will give us a competitive advantage. We will recruit the next generation to continue the wonderful work that has been done by the branches and the volunteers on the fraternal side, and add new financial information and other services to enhance the benefits we can offer our membership. I am extremely pleased that once again I have been given an opportunity to serve my fellow Hungarian American community. My background includes over 30 years of experience as a senior financial services executive and consultant at major firms such as Equitable Life, Citicorp, Chase, American Express, PNC, and MasterCard. Functionally the expertise I bring to HRFA includes: marketing and sales management, new product development, training, alliance building, risk management, insurance and reinsurance, the Internet and systems (at IBM). My early career experience in Hungarian affairs includes: Hungarian Scouting, advocacy of human rights for Hungarian minorities (CHRR), software consulting for a Hungarian owned bank, volunteer at the annual NJ Hungarian track meets, and a (novice) folk dance troop member. As an undergraduate I attended the University of Notre Dame, and have additional degrees from NYU (M.Sc.) and Columbia University (MBA in Finance). Home Office News My name is Eva Princi and I started working for HRFA April 2005. I took over the position of head bookkeeper after Elizabeth Pota retired. I was bom in Budapest, Hungary and after I finished high school I was hired as secretary Eva Pnnci for Ministry of the Interior. I worked there for 20 years before my son and 1 moved to Canada in 1991. In Canada I worked as a quality control manager for a Hungarian company that made sandpaper. In 2002 I moved to the USA, married an Italian American and we now live in Herndon, Virginia. Through my friend, Silvia Fedor, I heard about the head bookkeeper position at the HRFA. I am very happy and grateful to be working with so many nice people of my own background where I can feel comfortable and speak my native language. ❖ ❖ ❖ While to many June 24 is traditionally St. Ivan’s or John the Baptist’s Day, instead of jumping the fire in hope for good harvest, health and love, we sadly had to say good-bye to our former Secretary to the President, Noemi Heilman. She had joined HRFA 1.5 years before and befriended the home office staff right away with her outgoing friendly personality. Her enthusiasm spread to whomever she spoke with, either on the phone or in person. She was a real professional with whom it was easy to work with from any distance, even as far as from a satellite office in Florida. Among her many duties, she worked diligently to be sure the Fraternity Magazine was put together and ready for the publishers each quarter. She also assisted with the monthly fraternal newsletters and made sure they were mailed out in an orderly fashion to the Branch Managers. She will be greatly missed by the home office staff. We wish her Noemi Heilman
