Peggy Fabri Branch Manager BRANCH 300 WELCOME NEW MEMBERS We welcome Darin Michael Wimbish to Branch 300. Darin was born Octo­ber 6, 2003 to Michael and Katherine Wimbish, and is the second grand­son of Erika Mason, the claims and underwriting secretary at the HRFA home office in Washington, D.C. Darin's mother, Katherine, is also an HRFA member in Branch 300. We wish God’s blessing on Darin and his family. Duke to Host International Education Association Formed in 1982, AIEA draws its membership from about 400 universities and colleges that seeks to advance the international dimensions of higher education Duke University will serve as headquarters for the Asso­ciation of International Education Administrators (AIEA) for the next three years and has named a visiting re­search scholar as the association's new director, AIEA president-elect Stephen Dunnett and Gilbert Merkx, vice provost for international affairs and development at Duke, announced today. Jeff Holzgrefe, who has been working as a visiting re­search scholar in Duke's Department of Political Science and serving as adviser to the university's Fulbright U.S. Student Program, will serve as the new AIEA director. An Australian citizen and permanent resident in the United States, Holzgrefe is married to Elizabeth Kiss, di­rector of the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University and an associate professor of the practice of political sci­ence and philosophy. Ten years ago, Duke established the Office of Vice Pro­vost for International Affairs, which oversees implementa­tion of the university's internationalization efforts and has direct authority over the international and area studies centers. "On almost any dimension, we look terrific in what we've done," said Merkx, who leads the office. "Now we're offer­ing to step up to the plate and lead. By promoting this multifaceted approach to internationalization, we can help other universities." Congratulations to Jeff for this beautiful accomplishment. Jeff is a member of our branch as is his wife, Professor Elizabeth Kiss, and his mother-in-law, our former Branch Manager, Mrs. Eva Kiss. Teri Pflum Branch Manager We welcome Kassandra and Karly Landvay twin children of Mr. & Mrs. Alan Landvay mem­bers of Branch 35 River View, Michigan. We extend a warm welcome to Gab­riella Alexandra Lorincz, daughter of Steve and Heather Lorincz from Troy, Mi. In the picture, Gabriella is with big sister Grace who is already a member of the HRFA, Branch 182. We extend a warm welcome to one of our youngest members of the branch. Lindsey Ann Dugan was born on September 5, 2003. Lindsey is the first child of Tom and Jenny Dugan, who are also members of the Federation. The grandparents are Mark and Debbie Baker. We welcome to the HRFA Jeff and Travis Gallagher. Jeff is 11 years old and his favorite sports are football and basketball. Travis is in the men­tally gifted program at Blackhawk’s Inter­mediate School and is in the fifth grade. We also want to welcome their mother Kim, who is also a member of the Federation.
