FRATERNITY Page 13 Our group at our fraternal day “cook-out.” Those who donated items were Georgene Czap, Susan Darnay, Marian Nagy, Barbara J. Revak, Olga Darnay, and our branch. Monetary donations, which covered the cost of shipping the boxes, were given by Susan Darnay, Mary Lemak, Gizella Pomay, Marian Nagy, Olga Darnay, and also our branch. It is heartwarming to know that we have those who care enough to support this project. May everybody have a blessed Christmas and the best of everything in the forthcoming year. Congratulations to Marissa and Michael Darnay In summer United States Track and Field Action, fifth- grader Marissa Darnay accomplished much. She set new track records for the 1500 meter race-walk and the turbojavelin for her school, Wilson Christian Academy in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. She also progressively qualified at the Southwestern Pennsylvania District meet held at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and then the regional meet held at William C. Stockton College in Absecon, New Jersey. She qualified in both events to advance to the National Junior Olympics and competed in the Midget Girls Division for the national title which was held in Miami, Florida. Marissa elected not to go to Miami, having previously committed to a church youth trip. Michael Darnay, who is in the senior class at Wilson Christian Academy, was recently inducted into the Thomas A. Wilson Chapter of the National Honor Society. Michael was also selected to be included in the 37lh annual edition of Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Who’s Who Among American High School Students has been committed to honoring outstanding students on their achievements in academics, athletics, school, and community service. In school, Michael participated in Varsity Soccer, Bible Quizzing, and the Yearbook staff and was nominated to the National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. Michael is also actively involved in his church youth group and is scheduled for his third mission trip to Mexico with the Walnut Grove Assembly of God Church of West Mifflin this spring. Michael has been acceptance at California University of Pennsylvania for the Fall 2004 term. Michael and Marissa are the son and daughter of members John and Susan Darnay and the grandchildren of Branch Manager Olga Darnay. Olga Darnay, Branch Manager Tel: 412-466-2710 Branch 151 - Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania Branch Manager Peggy Fabri organized a car wash to raise funds for Matt Wallace, who plans to attend Bible College in January 2004. We organized two car washes, one on September 20, 2003, and the other on October 11th. The total amount raised was $1,090. We all wanted to do something for Matt whose life has changed through Christ. Matt was on drugs and in jail. He now teaches a neighborhood Bible study and helps many young people who are in the same position that he once was in. We are grateful that Matt’s life has turned around and that he is able to make a difference in the lives of others through Christ His Savior. We wish to thank our members and friends who participated in this fund-raising project. We are especially grateful to have had with us our missionary friends who work in Zimbabwe, Africa, Steve and Michelle Lockwood and their children, Clay, Grace, and James. The children, who are all members of the Federaton, carried the signs and directed the people to the car wash at Wendy’s parking lot. (See Michelle’s article at the end of our branch news.)
