FRATERNITY Page 11 We, at the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, are very proud of our long tradition of service to our members, and this is the reason for this new endeavor. To stay competitive we must continually strive to serve the needs and wishes of our members. We want to be here for the next century as strong as in the last. We encourage your comments and support in this new program. We are anxious to tell you more about it, especially our members in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. We hope that this program will be available to everyone else soon. Please contact us for further details and materials. Also, look for mailings from us.-HRFAJOINHÄW]®§DAY it starts with us Sponsored by America’s Fraternal Benefit Societies In Partnership with The Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network JUNE 21,2003 Letters to the Editor I had a chance to review the Fall 2002 issue of the magazine from your society. With much excitement, I enjoyed leafing through the multiple pages showing the great work your lodges did relative to Join Hands Day in 2002. What also caught my eye was that you even had a project in Hungary celebrating Join Hands Day. To the best of my knowledge in the three years that we have held Join Hands Day, this is the first time that any fraternal has gone overseas to promote Join Hands Day. This is simply outstanding, and we commend you and your leadership for taking this step. For decades all of us in the fraternal benefit system have been looking for an opportunity to attract a great number of young people to our societies. Well, now we have Join Hands Day to accomplish just that. We are seeing a dream being realized-getting young people connected with our local lodges and their leadership. On behalf of the Board of Directors, let me also thank you for the financial support that you provide to keep Join Hands Day alive. Our Board, as well as the Steering Committee, is now working on some major marketing and public relations plans to take Join Hands Day to an even higher level. We have great potential with Join Hands Day to increase the ever-important visibility for all fraternal societies in North America. Michael Stivoric Chairman, Join Hands Corporation A sitáborról szerencsésen visszaérkezett cserkész csapatunk. Kolus Jutka, Vezető (Branch 300 of the HRFA has been a long-time sponsor of the Hungarian Scouts of Washington, DC. We thank Mr. Elmer E. Vargo, Vice Chairman of the William Penn Association, for assisting the Scouts with their lodging arrangements at Scenic View in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.) We thank you for the gift of $25.00 each for our summer camp. We are happy to be members of the HRFA. Eszter and David Mikola, Budapest, Hungary (Eszter and David are members of Branch 182, Frankenmuth, Michigan, whose Branch Manager is Sara Nagy.)
