FRATERNITY Page 23 Around the middle of the afternoon, people started to gather around the dance floor in anticipation of the ever popular Csurdongolo Dance Group’s performance. They are from New Brunswick, NJ, and have been a staple at our event for many years, and as usual, put on a scintillating performance. At the conclusion of the dancers’ program, a buffet table laden with a cornucopia of Hungarian meats, cheeses, crackers and fresh fruit was prepared for the enjoyment of all those in attendance. Once again, the planning, preparation, hustle and bustle, camaraderie, and gratification of this year’s 10th Annual MariaPocs Fraternal Day will be placed in our book of memories, alongside those of previous years. Our objective has always been to create an atmosphere where our Hungarian people can come together to share and, indeed, further our heritage and culture. We hope that we have, in at least a small measure, been successful in accomplishing our goal. I take this opportunity to thank all the dedicated workers and individuals who in any way contributed their time, energy, and talents to this event over the past ten years. Also, thanks to our loyal following who have come to share our company in searing heat, as well as under more pleasant conditions. The day’s activities closed with the singing of “God Bless America,” paying homage to the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001.
