FRATERNITY Page 7 The 36th Quadrennial Convention of The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America Our historical 36th Convention took place in Toledo, Ohio on September 24-28, 2000. It was historical for two reasons: first, because we returned to Toledo for the first time since 1915 to pay homage to our founding fathers and to our history - our first Home Office was located in the ethnic Hungarian County of Birmingham in the City of Toledo between 1902 and 1936; second, because the delegates of the 36th Quadrennial Convention voted on a new management structure and new By-Laws which will put the Federation on a new course. I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the cooperation extended to me at this Convention. I am happy that the majority of the delegates understood the need for change, not just for the sake of change, but to address real concerns about the Federation’s future. The new management structure gives hope, flexibility and momentum to carry the society forward for many years to come. Now the time has come for unity and harmony among our ranks. Let us concentrate on what our forefathers assigned to us - to care for our members, not only as a financial institution but also as a fraternal society. Here is a synopsis of the minutes of this Convention. The new By-Laws will be published in its entirety in the next issue of the Fratemity-Testvériség. George Dózsa, President Synopsis of Minutes 36th Convention of The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America First Day - Monday, September 25, 2000 The Meeting was called to order by President George Dózsa at 8:11 A.M.
