Page 22 TESTVÉRISÉG Branch 35 - Detroit, Michigan Since the quorum was not met for the delegate election meeting set for April 2, 2000, the meeting was rescheduled for April 9th. Branch President John Bujdoso called the meeting to order, and James Nagy offered the prayer. The results of the delegate election meeting: Delegates elected: 1st Delegate: Ilona Szabó -2nd Delegate: John Bujdoso - 1st Alternate: James Nagy - 2nd Alternate: Edith M. Santo. Edie T. Santo, Secretary Branch 50 - Buffalo, New York Since there was no quorum on our first meeting on April 30,2000, we held a second meeting on May 7,2000. Mr. Nicholas Bado, Branch President, called the meeting to order. Reverend Louis Aday-Keresztury said the invocation. Delegate elected: Julia Cseh - 1st Alternate: Elvira Petry - 2nd Alternate: Nicholas Bado. Elvira Petry, Secretary/Branch Manager Branch 52 - So. Norwalk, Connecticut The delegate election meeting of our branch was held on May 7, 2000. The meeting was called to order at 2:15 p.m. by Branch President Ernest P. Virgulák. This special meeting was opened with a prayer. A quorum of 14 members was present. The purpose was to elect a delegate and two alternate delegates to the 36th Quadrennial Convention of the HRFA. Delegate elected: Ernest P. Virgulák - 1st Alternate: Beverly Tamas - 2nd Alternate: Elaine Zakhar. Following the election of the delegate and alternates, Suzanne S. Virgulák, Treasurer of the HRFA, was called upon to explain the proposed by-law changes which would result in a new management structure for the Federation. Much discussion followed. The meeting was adjourned at 3:10 p.m., followed by refreshments. Helen E. Sontra, Secretary Branch 61 - Dayton, Ohio Branch Manager Irma Camevale opened the delegate election meeting on April 30,2000. Since the quorum was not met the first time, the meeting had to be rescheduled. The following branch officers were elected: Rev. Gabor Nitsch, President; Velma Olesh, Secretary; and Helen Balogh, Treasurer. Next on the agenda was the delegate election. Delegate elected: Irma Carnevale - Alternate: Rev. Gabor Nitsch. Velma Olesh, Secretary Branch 62 - East Chicago - Indiana The delegate election meeting was held on May 20, 2000. Ft. Alphonse Skerl opened the meeting with a prayer. Branch President Margaret Balogh read excerpts from the HRFA by-laws and declared the meeting official since the quorum was met. Joseph Kovács talked about the history of Branch 62 and stated that the membership did not change since 1980 when they had taken over the branch. Everyone agreed that this was quite an accomplishment since the membership in most branches had declined. Next on the agenda was the election of delegate and alternate delegates. Delegate elected: Maria Kovács - 1st Alternate: Margaret Balogh - 2nd Alternate: Magdolna Marjai. Discussion followed concerning branch resolutions for the Convention. Dinner was served which included stuffed cabbage, sausage with all the trimmings. Refreshments were served. Everyone had a good time. Joseph Kovács, Secretary Branch 67 - Sharon, Pennsylvania The meeting of Branch 67 was called to order by President William Szuch. He reported that according to the by-laws, a quorum was present, and he opened the meeting with a prayer. The President reported that the purpose of the meeting was to elect a delegate and alternates to the 36th Quadrennial Convention. Also addressed would be by-law recommendations and branch resolutions. Delegate elected: Helen Szuch - Alternate: William J. Szuch. The President asked for nominations for second alternate. No response was made and nominations were closed by the President. Discussion followed on by-law changes and branch resolutions. The President thanked the members for taking time to attend this meeting. The meeting was closed with a prayer and refreshments and fellowship followed. Helen Szuch, Secretary/Branch Manager Branch 69 - Columbus, Ohio The delegate election meeting was held on April 2, 2000. Branch President Janet Vegh opened the meeting and asked Rev. Auguston Dobos to offer a prayer. Irma Carnevale introduced HRFA Director and Mrs. Richard Aros and informed the members that Director Aros would be the official observer. Following a light luncheon, Janet Vegh read the rules for conducting the delegate election meeting. Delegate elected: Margaret Leonardo - Alternate: Irma Carnevale. Rose M.
