Norwalk, Connecticut HRFA-Br. 52 proudly announces that Christa Irene Van Buskirk was chosen by the New England Fraternal Congress to receive a scholarship at its annual meeting held in New London, Connecticut, on Saturday, November 13, 1999. A brief portion of her application is as follows: “I would be honored to receive the NEFC Scholarship as I take great pride in my education. My college years to date have been a wonderful experience, filled with many opportunities. My family and my education are equally important to me, the foundations of my life, and I feel I am a wonderful combination of both. I appreciate the time taken to consider my application as I know there are many deserving applicants.” Branch 134 - Gr. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Along with the generosity of the Federation, Branch 134 prepared a Thanksgiving basket for a needy family. Members of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, also contributed many non-perishable items to this worthy cause. Our secretary Julia Nagy had knee surgery this past summer, and has been receiving therapy since then. We all wish you a complete recovery Jay. With the holiday season approaching, quite a few of our branch members helped to decorate the sanctuary for the holidays. As we are beautifying our Church for the Christmas season each year, so much fellowship and fra- temalism is enjoyed by all who have participated. It was decided that we will give monetary gifts for Christmas to our juvenile members. We wish everyone a Blessed Christmas and a healthy prosperous New Year.
