Page 18 TESTVÉRISÉG In addition to studying, I became involved in a variety of activities but concentrated on riding and showing horses. This activity also enabled me to do community service at a therapeutic riding center for handicapped and developmentally disabled children and adults. I began riding horses at age eight and continue to do so today. I have been fortunate enough to compete in both world and national championships in saddleseat equitation and have won several such championships in Colorado. I continue to ride and compete in college as a member of the Rhodes College Equestrian Team. I also continue to do community service in Memphis where I am involved in activities such as a mentoring program at a local elementary school. And I am a member of the Chi Omega sorority in which I am very active. My great grandparents on my father’s side are all from Hungary. My father has tried to raise me as he was raised with a pride in our Hungarian heritage. I enjoy spending time with my Hungarian family and hearing the stories of what it was like growing up in a predominantly Hungarian community in northeastern Ohio. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the HRFA for its generous gift.” Adrienne Primosch, Member of Branch 151: “Mr. Joseph Fabri, a dear friend of my father Bern Primosch, and a director of the HRFA, was instrumental in obtaining for me a whole life insurance policy which later provided a student scholarship. I am a senior at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, majoring in Graphic Design. I was fortunate to study in the Czech Republic for a semester. I am also working as an intern at Hilferty Exhibit and Design in Athens. I look forward to graduation and a graphic design career. I want to express my appreciation to the HRFA for its generosity and foresight in providing financial help towards my education. Through the coaxing of Mr. Fabri, I not only received financial help at a time when it was most needed, but also a paid-up life insurance policy. The plan is truly a great opportunity for a young person. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a higher education. Thank you again, Mr. Fabri and Dad. ” Lisa Skerkavich, Member, Branch 22: “I am currently an honor student with a 3.35 average at the Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology. After graduating this summer, I plan to attend workshops on filmmaking and eventually to pursue a successful career in this field. Photography is a passion of mine, and I would encourage anyone who has a dream or goal to do something in his or her life to work hard and to go for it. I greatly appreciate the generosity of the HRFA toward my education. The money will go towards my student loan.” (Lisa was recommended for the Student Aid Grant by Branch Manager Patricia M. Morey.) Diana Corina Stetz, Member, Branch 259: “I was born in Bistrita-Nasaud, Romania, on November 10, 1976. As soon as I started school, even at a very early age, I realized that my vocation involved working with people. I always did well in school, and in 1991, when I came to Calgary, Alberta, I continued my studies. I feel very fortunate to have come here, because now I can pursue my dream r Diana Corina stetz to teach. I graduated from Sir Winston Churchill High School in Calgary with honors and received numerous distinctions of service for my volunteering services as well as many other awards and scholarships for languages, math and science. In 1995,1 started my four-year program at the University of Calgary. I am currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Education program with a major in mathematics. My other interests lie within education and the sciences as well as teaching in various schools as a volunteer. I also volunteer with a few non-profit organizations. I enjoy literature, music, learning foreign languages and outdoor sports.” Jill Ann Zarachowicz, Member Branch 3: “I am a member of Claridon Congregational Church, but I enjoy going to other church services also. I have attended the Hungarian Reformed Church in Fairport occasionally with my grandparents, Jenny and Edward Bihary. I am not part of a specific group within my church, but I often meet with a group of close friends for bible discussions. Before I started working, I was an active member in a church youth group. I participated in such events as the Crop Walk, UNICEF, Sunday breakfasts, and other church-sponsored events. In the community I live Adrienne Primosch 1________A Lisa Skervaitch
