FRATERNITY Page 9 HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCHES of WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA WOMEN’S CONFERENCE The Third Avenue Calvin Reformed Church of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, marked a historic event in the life of the church by hosting the 46lh Annual Spring Women’s Conference of the Hungarian Reformed Churches of Western Pennsylvania. The Conference began with registration and a reception, which was then followed by the church service. Rev. Imre Bertalan from Toledo, Ohio, took the congregation on a wonderful trip down memory lane to reminisce about growing up in our Hungarian homes and neighborhoods. Rev. Daniel Borsay lifted our spirits with a special prayer to unite our Hungarian hearts. Our children also had an important part in the church service, which hopefully will inspire them to carry on this conference for future generations. The closing portion of the program was dedicated to the memory of Rev. Dr. Aladar Komjáthy who continues to inspire and encourage our lives with his legacy. Victoria Komjáthy presented a moving tribute in honor of her father. Of course words cannot express the beauty of the Hungarian hymns which brought us closer to our sister churches. We really felt the presence of the Lord and the joy of Christian fellowship. Following the service, a short business meeting was held and the group was directed to a local church hall where a lovely dinner was prepared by the men of Branch 151 of the HRFA. The dinner consisted of our favorites, csirke leves, csirke paprikas and nokedli and uborka salata. Two dessert tables overflowed with fruit salads, sütemény, pogacsa and palacsinta. The wonderful meal was a fitting culmination of the day’s event. The young generation at the Women ’s Conference. Thanks to the various churches that helped us put this conference together. The response was overwhelming with groups from Pittsburgh, McKeesport, Duquesne, Homestead, Elwood City and our own Beaver Falls church. An event such as this is not possible without the many workers who contributed their skills and talents. God bless you all for your dedication and loving spirits. To God be the Glory! Arlene Csornán, Manager, Branch 151 Ladies of the Women ’s Conference.
