FRATERNITY Page 7 DISTRICT MEETINGS In 1997 we held our Spring District meetings in Duquesne, Pennsylvania; New Brunswick, New Jersey; Akron, Ohio; South Bend, Indiana, and Toledo, Ohio. The meetings were conducted by the national officers and attended by local board members, branch managers, agents, finders, clergy and lay leaders. All meetings were opened with devotion. President George Dózsa extended greetings to the attending members and distinguished guests. He gave a brief summary of the promotional work, the new regulations in different states, and outlined the goals and projects of the Federation for the coming years. Secretary Endre Csornán presented reports from the claim and underwriting departments. We strengthened our field force with the following new members: Susan Szabó and Steve Vajda as area managers; Margaret A. Ayers branch manager in Canton, Ohio; Rev. Imre Bertalan agent in Toledo, Ohio; Betty Dolenc branch manager in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Rev. Joseph Posta branch manager in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. We also gained new finders: Richard W. Aros, Frank Kapitan, László Kovács and Ted Weisenbach. Mr. Csornán also stated that, according to a Convention resolution, Branches 300A were assigned to their respective areas. Treasurer Suzanne S. Virgulák reported on the Federation’s assets, mortgage loan procedures and direct billing. In Akron, South Bend and Duquesne, the Ladies Aid of the respective churches prepared excellent meals of Hungarian style and delicacies. In New Brunswick, the Ladies of the local branch prepared the delicious meal, and in Toledo, the Hungarian Club served the excellent lunch. After each delicious luncheon, the afternoons were used for question and answer periods, which were both educational and instructive. Endre Csornán, Secretary Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
