Page 18 TESTVÉRISÉG NEWS continued the Conference Minister and the Sunset Assoc. Vice Moderator from UCC, the former pastor, the President of the Hungarian Reformed Federation and many other dignitaries and representatives. After the formal worship service, the Amerian and Hungarian national anthems were sung, and the closing blessing was offered. A reception and program continued the day’s festivities in the beautiful, spacious Social Hall. Local government dignitaries gave their greetings, followed by George Dózsa, President of the HRFA, who spoke to the audience about the background of the splendid stained glass windows, and beautiful carved church furnishings which were the gifts of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. I was next on the program, representing the HRFA and its California Area, and also representing the Szabó family, since my father, the late Rev. Anthony Szabó, was very instrumental in the establishment of this Church many years ago. Margaret Saltzer, Branch Manager BRANCH 300 - WASHINGTON, D.C. The Coronado baseball team in Class 4A is a major contender for a state championship in Arizona. The high school team had two solid pitches, but knew they needed a third one to complete in a shortened season with just as many games as the previous year. Brian Brighella, our member, turned out to be just that person! Brighella led Coronado to a 9-2 win over Apache Junction, and gave up just two hits. “I’m glad I’m doing my part, getting some innings in,” the junior lefthander said. “I didn’t pitch at all my sophomore season, and I worked hard to get here.” Brighella had a tougher time against the Prospector (10-6, 1-3 East Sky), but closed his performance in the seventh by striking out the side. He also went 3 for 4 at the place, including a leadoff double. High school baseball at its most exciting and Coronado’s record speaks for itself. (12-5, 3-1 East Sky). Brian Brighella not only excels at baseball, but had five tackles and one sack (out of Coronado’s six) as the Dons defeated Chaparral in football. Congratulations, Brian! Barbara Kiss A remarkable athlete, Brian Brighella. The new sanctuary, the artifacts, the stained glass windows, the hand carved pulpit and the pews inherited from the New Covenant United Church of Christ of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, now adorn the beautiful Grace Hungarian Reformed Church.
