FRATERNITY Page 19 BRANCH 140 - CANTON, OH The annual meeting of our branch was held on February 20, 1994 at 11:30 A.M. It was opened with a prayer offered by President Steve Bodo. Minutes of the previous meeting and Treasurer’s report were read and accepted by all. The five members of the branch who passed away in 1993 were remembered in our prayers. A discussion followed on the different options that are available for paid-up policies. We also re-elected the following officers for 1994: Steve Bodo, President; Steven Bodo, Vice President; Margaret R. Bodo, Treasurer- Secretary; Stephen Sekeres, Comptroller. Margaret Bodo, Treasurer-Secretary BRANCH 151 - BEAVER FALLS, PA We would like to welcome to our branch one of the youngest members, Jessalyn Veronica De Santes who was bom October 21, 1993. Jessalyn is the daughter of Jeff and Julie De Santes of Evans City, Pa. Grandparents are Joe and Peg Fabri. We congratulate the family and wish much joy and happiness to Jessalyn. All are members of the Federation and children of Allen and Theresa Kovács of Pittsburgh, Pa. The annual meeting of our branch was held in Beaver Falls on Saturday, January 29, 1994, 6:00 P.M. Opening prayer was offered by Arlene Csornán. Officers elected for 1994 are: Joseph Fabri, President; László (Ödön) Kovács, Vice President; Alex Varady, Treasurer; Margaret Fabri, Secretary; Helen Wilson, Comptroller. Plans were made for: March 15 - Commemoration of 100th Anniversary of Kossuth’s death and celebration of Independence Day; April 3,1994 - Our Church in Beaver Falls will be holding for the first time a Bethlen Sunday; May 30, 1994 - Bacon fry at the Beaver Falls Park. Endre Csornán, National Secretary, surrounded by a group of happy children at the yearly Christmas Party of Br. 151 and the 3rd Ave. Magyar Reformed Church Our branch 151 and the 3rd Ave. Magyar Reformed Church again joined forces - talents and resources - to celebrate the holiday season. We started off with a children’s party held on Saturday, December 4th. Our branch had never seen such a large turnout, in fact it was the largest we had ever experienced. The HRFA presented gifts to and entertained approximately 29 children. The highlight of our party was the singing of “Happy Birthday,” to Jesus, commemorating the birth of our Savior. The following week our traditional ecumenical service was enhanced by the choir of the Greek Orthodox Church. Rev. Joseph Posta of Ligonier, Pa. coordinated the service, which was sponsored by the HRFA and the William Penn Association. The children of our branch again performed the Christmas pageant which is becoming more impressive each year. The children who performed were: Stephanie
