There being no other matters to be discussed, the meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Peggy Hempel Secretary BRANCH 35 - DETROIT, MI Meeting was held in the District Office on December 7, 1991. Branch President Samuel Vespremi being absent, Vice President Rev. Imre A. Bertalan opened the meeting with a prayer. Question was raised concerning the security of our District Office building should it become vacant on December 31, 1991 as scheduled. The concern involved potential vandalism or fire. Based upon our discussion, a motion was passed that the Board of Directors of the HRFA keep our District Office open and operational until such a date that the property is purchased and the new owner takes possession of it. It was also requested that Mrs. Ethel Teghze Gerber continue on as Branch Manager and District Clerk, maintaining her current levels of responsibility and compensation. Officers for 1992 were elected: Amelia Kulcsár, President; Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, Vice President; James Z. Kish, Treasurer; Louise E. Vespremi, Secretary. Date for delegate election meeting was set for April 26, 1992. Louise E. Vespremi Secretary BRANCH 45 - ELIZABETH, NJ At a meeting held on January 26, 1992, the following officers were elected for the year: Albert Putnoky, President; Helen Putnoky, Treasurer; Magdalene Tussay, Secretary. Date for delegate election meeting was set for April 26, 1992. Magdalene Tussay Secretary BRANCH 50 - BUFFALO, NY Presiding officer Elvira Petry called the meeting of January 12, 1992 to order. This was held at the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church with Rev. András Springer giving the opening prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved. There was no report from the treasurer. A long time member of the Federation and respected pastor of the Hungarian community in Western New York, the Rev. Nicholas Wesselényi, died in December. The Ladies Guild of the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church held its annual Christmas Party. Several members of the local branches enjoyed the festivities and the delicious Hungarian food. We elected branch officers for 1992: Nicholas M. Bado, President; Leslie Kozma, Vice President; Alexander Csicseri, Treasurer; Elvira Petry, Secretary. Date for the delegate election meeting was set for May 3,1992. We then opened the floor to discussion and suggestions regarding proposals for the By- Laws. Elvira Petry Secretary & Branch Manager BRANCH 52 - SO. NORWALK, CT Meeting of our branch was held on December 8, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. in the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Virgulák. Presiding officer was Branch President, Ernest P. Virgulák, who called the meeting to order and gave the opening prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read and attested to. Report of the treasurer was accepted as read. 1991-donations: Hungarian Reformed Church (So. Norwalk) - $25 (Christmas gift); Sunday School - $25; Bethlen Home - $25. Corresponding secretary listed names of all persons to whom get well, sympathy and anniversary cards were sent. Branch Manager reported on one-day trip to Atlantic City in June 1991. Also, donation of flowers for Mother's Day to Hungarian Reformed Church, So. Norwalk, CT. Discussion on possible trips for 1992 followed. Election of officers for 1992 took place. Elected were: Ernest P. Virgulák, President; Joseph Lucskay, Vice President; Joseph Singola, Treasurer; Helen Sontra, Recording Secretary; Irene Kurimai, Corresponding Secretary; Andrew Hutkai, Comptroller. Date for delegate election meeting was set for May 17, 1992. Plans for Mother's Day Flowers (5/10/92); Fellowship Moments on June 7,1992; annual meeting date on 12/6/92. The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m. with recitation of our Lord's Prayer. Members left for the funeral home, following refreshments, to attend wake for Mrs. Elizabeth Szocs. Helen E.
