Page 26 TESTVÉRISÉG DISTRICT MEETING Chicago Area Chicago area district meeting was scheduled for Sunday, May 5, 1991. This year National Vice President-Secretary George Dózsa chaired the meeting at Calvin Reformed Church Hall in Lynwood, Illinois. About the time Mr. Dózsa and his wife Matilda arrived, the volunteer kitchen crew was already busy preparing our annual sausage and pork roast dinner (hurka, kolbász, pecsenye), since the Chicago District Branch Managers decided to have our annual dinner the same day as the District Meeting. During dinner, Area Manager Julius Simon introduced Vice President-Secretary George Dózsa from the Home Office. In turn Mr. Dózsa greeted all members and guests, and congratulated our senior members. Director Joseph Kovács asked for the floor and announced the names of those senior members with 50 years or more membership in the Federation. Mr. Dózsa then honored each one of them with a 50-year commemorative pin. Honored were: Mrs. Margaret Yobbka, Mrs. Mary Ondo, Mrs. Irene Weighley, Mrs. Helen Bujaki, Mr. William Kish. There are many more senior members in the Chicago area who are now in nursing homes and simply could not make it to this meeting. Director Kovács highlighted the Yobbka family whose members represent a five-generation membership in the Federation. See write-up in Hungarian on this family under Branch News (Br. 62). At about 1:30 p.m. when the dinner was over, Mr. Dózsa called the meeting to order. He discussed the President's and Treasurer's reports. There were many questions and answers. We spent a great deal of time discussing ways of stopping membership decline and possibilities of writing up new members. Mr. Julius Simon emphasized the importance of being well acquainted with the products we sell. Vice President Dózsa and Director Kovács talked about the licensing of agents and branch managers and how important it is for agents to be licensed. When Mr. Dózsa closed the meeting at 5:30 p.m., we all agreed that we had a very educational and productive meeting. Later on in the evening, three Branch Managers, Nancy Sholtes of Br,. 84; Julius Simon of Br. 176 and Maria Kovács of Br. 62 determined the clear profit of the sausage and pork roast dinner to be $296.00. They decided to donate this sum ($90.00 each of the three branches) to the Student Aid Fund. Joseph Kovács, Director Donations to the Student Aid Fund $300.00 HRFA Br. 62, E.
