Generációkon keresztül megőrizték a magyarságukat, hovatartozásukat. Nagyon szép este volt. Kovács Mária, osztálykezelő BRANCH 67 - Sharon, PA Lois Ann Furgess is the daughter of the late Rev. & Mrs. William B. Furgess. Her parents served the Hungarian Presbyterian Church beginning in Farrell, PA and were instrumental in relocating and building the current Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Farrell, PA. They loyally served the church for 19 years. Rev. & Mrs. Furgess were members of Br. 67, Sharon, PA and Lois and Ruth are also members of our branch. Rev. Furgess proudly served on the Board of Managers of the Bethlen Home. Lois Ann graduated from Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She added further degrees in nursing at the University of Maryland including a Baccalaureate Degree in 1970 and a Master of Science Degree in 1973. Her nursing career has shown continual growth as well as personal professional challenge. Starting as a staff nurse at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, moving to head nurse at the University of Maryland and holding various positions instructing, coordinating, directing and specializing in psychiatric nursing. Her current position is Associate Professor of Psychiatric Mental Health nursing at Essex Community College, Baltimore County, Maryland. Although her nursing has successfully touched many patients, she is now answering a call that will allow her to reach out and touch people spiritually. Lois Ann is currently a Divinity student at Wesley Seminary, Washington, D.C. and will be applying for a ministry status this fall. Lois Ann filled pulpit October 6, 1991 in Sharon, PA. Ironically this was one day short of the 25th anniversary of her father's death. I am sure Lois felt a reunion of spirit being in the pulpit of the very church her family contributed so much to. We at Branch 67 are proud of Lois Ann's career accomplishments and wish her the very best as her call to the ministry develops. Lois Ann Furgess (Daughter of the late Rev. & Mrs. Béla Furgész)
