Page 28 TESTVÉRISÉG LOUIS PAROSKA, Member of Br. 4: "I would like to take the opportunity to express my appreciation and thanks to the HRFA for the recent grant which was given to me for furthering my education. Thanks again." Louis attends Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, majoring in business management. He was a boy scout for eight years and trained in the traditional Hungarian way. This aided him in his military training at Fort Knox, KY and Fort Bragg, N.C. His present military assignment is Company M 3rd Squadron, 107 Armoured Cavalry, Ravenna, Ohio. 2nd Lieutenant- Platoon Leader. Louis teas recommended to us by Jolán Abel, Branch Manager JEFF RATLIFF, Member of Br. 302: "I am very grateful to the HRFA for their generous contribution towards my continuation at the University of New Hampshire. This has helped to pay for the recent increase in my tuition and I would like to take this time to thank you. I am second semester sophmore enrolled in the environmental engineering curriculum at the University of New Hampshire. When I graduate I hope to be able to design equipment that will benefit our surroundings instead of destroying them. During my free time I like to participate in sports like: soccer, skiing, racquetball and hiking. Thank you for your donation." Jeff was recommended by Julianna Tompa, Branch Manager BEATA TYCHO, Member of Br. 501: "At the present time a priority goal of mine is to complete my education. I wish to attain a Bachelors Degree in Communication Management. While I do believe that it is critical to gain experience in the career, I also feel that a solid education will help me fulfill my goals and broaden my knowledge. My former education leading up to college began at St. Thomas the Apostle School where I attended grammar school. Being a member of that parish, I occasionally do volunteer work when I am able to. Some activities I partake in are the annual Street Fairs, Bazaars, and Auctions held at the parish hall. After completing grammar school, I entered Dominican Commercial High School where I graduated with honors. At Dominican Commercial, I was a member of Student Council and became a science tutor. During my senior year of attendance, I was accepted into the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High School Students. Upon graduating high school, I decided that higher education would enhance my chances for a better future, so I enrolled into Kingsborough Community College. Kingsborough gave me the opportunity to explore various majors and learn on my own. While attending classes in the broadcast program, I was able to participate to a great extent at the college operated radio station, which gave me practical experience in a broadcast setting. I graduated from Kingsborough with honors, earned a place on the Dean's List, and received a Certificate of Recognition. I was eager to venture into the Broadcast Industry to work, yet I knew I needed more schooling to exercise my knowledge. I decided to go to Syracuse University to further my knowledge. Their programs will give me the opportunity to acquire a liberal education as well as professional training. Syracuse University is a prestigious school that carries a very good reputation, yet it is not an inexpensive institution. Although I am receiving financial aid, my family and I are still struggling to afford the tuition. Receiving a scholarship has greatly assisted me in my tuition. I believe when I graduate from Syracuse University, that I will have a well- combined, top quality education that will help me to begin my career for the future." Beata was recommended to us by the late Mrs. Helen Duska. AMY WENDT (formerly Amy BADO), Member of Branch 50: "I would just like to thank you for the student aid you awarded me for the fall semester of my sophmore year of college. It really helped to cover the costs. Beata Tycho Louis Paroska
