Page 24 TESTVÉRISÉG Presiding officer Julianna Tompa called the meeting to order. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Treasurer's report listed the following donations: $500—Scholarship Fund; $100—to support our soldiers; $100— Memorial Fund for Margaret K. Bertalan; $100 —Hungarian Heritage Center in New Brunswick; $50 —Hung. American Athletic Club Scholarship Fund Benefit Dinner. The 1990-Christmas Party was a happy occasion, approx. 30 people were present. Fifteen children received presents from the Branch, food and refreshments were provided by members of the Executive Committee. A Fund Raising Dinner was held on January 19,1991 with great success, approx. 170 people attended. Above mentioned donations were given from the remaining money. Prayers were offered for deceased members: Julianna Kovács, Elizabeth Teszar, Elizabeth Kulchar, Mathilde Major and László Horvath. New members received in to Br. 302 in 1990: Gyurian Attila & Katalin, Katalin & Nikolett; Kish Mary Ellen & Steve; Orbán Patricia; Oresko Eva, Hosszú István & Tibor; Van Glahn Tylor who is our youngest member. Officers elected for 1991 are: Anna Lipoczky, President; Linda K. Puskas, Vice President; William B. Puskas, Jr., Treasurer; Matilda Dózsa, Secretary; Jerry Wyttenbach, Comptroller. Members and friends please mark your calendar for Pick-Nick Meeting on July 8,1991 and Regular Meeting of the Branch on October 7, 1991. Julianna Tompa, Branch Manager BRANCH 352—CLEVELAND, OH The annual meeting of the Branch was called to order at 12:40 p.m. by President Rev. Aaron Elek. He also gave the opening prayer. Minutes and Treasurer's reports were given and approved. President Elek asked that we request the Home Office to maintain closer contact with the churches. Also that we continue the yearly calender. He also requested that the Home Office look into new means of advertising. Prayer was given for Mrs. Margaret Bertalan who will be greatly missed and for all of our members who have passed away. Branch Manager Edward Bihary asked members to send in change of addresses and also to update their policies as far as any changes in beneficiaries. The annual picnic and bacon roast will be held on Sunday, August 4, 1991, starting at 1:00 p.m. Members and all friends are welcome to pack their picnic baskets and join in fellowship on this day. The picnic will be held on the grounds of the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church. Come and join us. We voted to send $25.00 to the Memorial Fund, scholarship fund established for Mrs. Margaret Bertalan. Election of officers for 1991 resulted as follows: Rev. Aaron Elek, President; Steven Tabor, Vice President; Jenny Bihary, Treasurer; Irene Elek, Secretary. Branch Manager Ed Bihary installed the new officers. The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m. with a prayer and refreshments. Irene Elek, Secretary BRANCH 369-MANHATTAN, NY 1991. január 27-én rendes évi gyűlést tartottunk, amelyen 13 szavazó tag volt jelen, tehát a határozat- képesség megvolt. Az elnök-osztálykezelő megnyitotta a gyűlést imával, amelyben kérte az Istent, hogy gyógyítsa meg Dr. Bertalan Imrénét. Az előző évi jegyzőkönyv felolvasása és elfogadása után az osztálykezelő beszámolt az osztály elmúlt esztendejéről. Gróf Teleki Béla, az osztály legidősebb tagja elhunyt. Temetését Dr. Bertalan Imre végezte. Az osztály több tagja tevékeny az erdélyi magyarok segélyezésében. Hámos Árpád, Bécsben élő tag, az év folyamán több ízben gyűjtött össze és vitt át gépkocsi-karavánnal élelmiszert, ruhát, irodai felszerelést a Székelyföldön élő rászorulóknak. A képen láthatók: Biharyné, báró Orbán Georgette (apját a románok kivégezték), Bihary László, Szilárd Zsuzsanna, dr. Szilárd Márió, Hámos Margit, Sándor Anna, Gróf-Tisza Magdaléna, Gróf-Tisza István. Majd Hámos László, a Hungarian Human Rights Foundation elnöke számolt be az Alapítvány tevékenységéről a kisebbségben élő magyarok érdekében. Márciusban Tőkés Lászlót három hét alatt körülvitte az Egyesült Államokban és Canadában, összehozta Bush elnökkel, Baker külügyminiszterrel és a canadai miniszterelnökkel. Novemberben Erdély magyarlakta városaiban és Bukarestben járt. Lantos
