1968—Convention

ST. GEORGE DISTRICT NEWS

The meeting was held on Sunday, January 20, 1990. Those in attendance were John Krilla, Michael Pauli, Nick Szilagyi, Larry Toth, Marilyn Kish and Donna Balut. Helen Duska, the District Office Manager, was also in attendance to answer any questions that might arise. The meeting was opened by John Krilla at 10:15 a.m. who informed the members that the merger agreement was signed and as of 12/29/89 our new branch became effective. This meeting was called solely for the purpose of reorganization.

Branch 501 will represent New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Michigan, and Branch 502 will represent Ohio.

A certificate of assumption will be sent to all policyholders by the Federation with an accompanying letter from St. George assuring all members of continued coverage and expanded services.

The Federation forwarded $10,000 to St. George District to open a checking account for fraternal purposes. It was decided to keep a binder of all minutes for future meetings and to send a copy of each set of minutes to the Federation Home Office in Washington, D.C.

Larry Toth suggested taking ads out in some of the local newspapers to promote new insurance policies.

A Nominating Committee was then appointed by John Krilla to propose a slate of officers and also the new District Director, who will represent our Branch on the Hungarian Federation Board of Directors. Those on the Committee were Mike Pauli, Larry Toth and Donna Balut. The Committee returned a slate as follows:
