Búcsúzunk tőle a boldog feltámadás reménységében. Olchváry István Elizabeth Balazs 1910-1987 Elizabeth (Betty) Balazs, 77, of Silver Spring, MD, died on August 21, 1987 in Springdale Terrace Retirement Home, Silver Spring, MD, where she lived for ten months. Her parents were Joseph Balazs and Elizabeth Demeter Balazs. Betty joined the Federation in 1929 when the Home Office was still located in Toledo, Ohio. There she was employed as a clerk and bookkeeper for Mr. Stephen Molnár, then National Secretary. In 1936 when the Home Office was transferred to Washington, D.C., Betty relocated to the Nation's Capital and continued to work as secretary in the Treasurer's Department. She worked in this position for Mr. Emery Király until 1963; for Mr. Paul St. Mikossy until January 1977, and for Mr. Joseph Molnár until September 1977. She then stayed on as a part time employee, practically until her death. Betty will always be remembered as a gentle and pleasant person who served the Federation faithfully and with dedication throughout the years. We all miss her. Her cousin, Mary Bacho, is Secretary of Branch 21 in Toledo, Ohio. Stephen Üveges, Sr. 1904-1987 Stephen Üveges Sr., 82, of Lower Burrell, PA, passed away on July 23, 1987 at the Bethlen Nursing Home in Ligonier, PA, where he had been a resident the past four years. He worked in the coal mines in Portage, PA, for 26 years before moving to the New Kensington area, where he worked 25 years for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. before retiring. Mr. Üveges was a member of the Springdale United Church of Christ, and a lifetime member and former officer of the South Kensington Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a former President of the William Penn Association of Springdale. He was also a member and former branch manager of Br. 197 of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. While serving as branch manager and president of Br. 197, he was presented the award of recognition by the HRFA in appreciation for his fine and excellent services rendered to the Federation.
