FRATERNITY Page 19 LEARNED FROM MY MOTHER . . . HEARD FROM MY FATHER . . . The first generation of Hungarian-Americans is almost completely deceased. Unfortunately many left without any written documentation on their life. While the primary source of information is no longer available, there is a secondary source, which is just as valid, within our reach. This source is the WAY parents and grandparents live on in the MEMORY of their children and grand-children. My intention is to ask you to reconstruct the life stories which otherwise would he left in oblivion. The ultimate purpose is to have a record of these lives. The following questionnaire, which if answered, would give briefly the particulars of their life. This material would go into the Ligonier Archives in a separate folder under a name designated by you — your father’s, mother’s and/or grandparents’. It may very well be that one of your offsprings may be interested in their ancestry. How happy they would be if they could find their indentity in our Archives.
