FRATERNITY Page 9 The branch members indicated their support of the 'winter festival’ which was to be held at the church. As in previous years, the branch and church members work for the benefit of the church. Branch Manager John K. Morey gave a report about the new Single Premium Whole Life plans now available. He also stressed the lower rates on all certificates since the new CSO tables have been released. Plans were begun for future meetings. The meeting was closed and adjourned with prayer. The Annual Spring Bazaar was held on April 26, 1987 at the Calvin Center Auditorium of the Hungarian Presb. Church of Youngstown, Ohio. Branch Manager John K. Morey and his wife Patricia were on the bazaar committee which helped plan the event and also worked in the kitchen. Approximately 250-275 dinners of breaded chicken and stuffed cabbage with kolbász were served. Many members (too numerous to mention) helped with many of the other activities during the bazaar which included baking, cooking, noodle making, selling crafts, white elephant sale and Bingo. Sandi Dyke was the winner of the prize which was donated by the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America and the 2nd prize winner was Carol Skarosi which was a basket of groceries which was donated by Branch Manager John K. Morey & his wife. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the fellowship of the day and all are looking forward to our Annual Fall Bazaar which will be held on October 11, 1987. Patricia Mores, Branch Secretary BRANCH 31 - LORAIN The president William Aros opened the meeting with a prayer. A moment of silent prayer was requested for members who passed away in 1986 — Mrs. Daniel Bodor, Helen Pavelschak, Elizabeth Pandy and Joseph Sido. A memorial gift was sent to the Bethlen Home from Branch 31 in memory of each deceased member. A letter received from Reverend Paul Kovács, Administrator of the Bethlen Home expressed his appreciation for the donations sent to the Bethlen Home. The secretary reported a note of thanks received from the activity director of the Bethlen Home for the donation of money to the annual bazaar. Report was made that several officers and members of Branch 31 attended the Debrecen College Concert held at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium. The following were elected officers: William Aros, president; Teresa Simone, vice president; Emma Aros, secretary-treasurer; Sharon Pennington, controller. The meeting was closed with a prayer by the president. Emma Aros, secretary BRANCH 35 - DETROIT The meeting was called to order by President James Kish at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 1987 at the branch office Lincoln Park, Michigan. Opening prayer was read by Margie Kish. The secretary read her minutes and after correction of the date of the last meeting, the minutes were accepted Michael Juhasz, treasurer, gave his report which was approved. Sam Vespremi again questioned the branch manager as to when dividends would be paid. Mrs. Teghze reiterated that she has no more information than she reported at our previous meeting. Branch manager gave a status report on new membership. Discussion was concluded that our next meeting would be combined with a summer cook-out. Alternate dates were selected so that there would be no conflict with other Hungarian organizations. The dates are: July 19, July 26 or August 16. The officers of Branch #35 are: James Kish, president; Julie Bujdoso, secretary; Michael Juhasz, treasurer; Ethel Teghze, corresponding secretary. No further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m. with a closing prayer read by Margie Kish.
