Page 18 TESTVÉRISÉG Mrs. Lorie Takacs is the new branch manager of Br. #100, which was served by the Rev. Dezső Parragh for many years. Beside serving his branch, Rev. Parragh attended several conventions. His input in the life of the Federation is essential. We are grateful that Rev. Parragh continues to serve the Federation by helping Lorie in her new duties. Kedves Elnök Ur: The sad event of Zoltan’s death closes a chapter of our lives which has been significant. We date back to 1920 — to Toledo and also Chicago. Ever since the HRFA’s offices were in Toledo, I have worked with Branch 73. My dad was a very hard worker and built up the Toledo branch as one of the best. Later it was merged and called 21-73. Zotlan’s dad also was a very loyal manager of Branch 163. That’s how Zoltán Pozsgay and Margaret Percei met and were married in 1944. We have both been members since childhood. I thought you would like to know this little history of Emery Pozsgay’s son and Emery Percel’s daughter Margaret. They were two valuable secretaries (titkárok) and very loyal co-workers of Molnár István. I wrote this eulogy — “On October 24, 1909 a second boy, Zoltán Emery Pozsgay, was born to Bella and Emery Pozsgay. Because his parents loved music they urged their children to start violin lessons with the promise of studying in Europe. However, this did not work out. After much disappointment, the yen to complete his musical studies grew stronger and Zoltán graduated from the Chicago College of Music with his degree in violin and harmony. He was the only boy in a class of 35. Because of the stock market crash rather than pursue a career in music, he began working in the dental field. The steady employment at the Chicago Northwestern Railroad was an attractive promise and thus he served his machinist’s apprenticeship as his revered dad and worked night for many years. Music became an enjoyable hobby. On June 15, 1986, he left Margaret, his wife of 42 years, and his son Gerald Emery (Lynn) to return to his Lord.” Sincerely, Margaret Percei Pozsgay We thank Mrs. Pozsgay for sharing her thoughts with us — in this way we are reminded of the dedication of those before us in the history of the HRFA.
