Page 10 TESTVÉRISÉG BRANCH 1, BRIDGEPORT, CT At the United Church of Christ, Bridgeport, John Koi, branch manager, presented Sherry Hongo and Roger Foley with student aid checks. BRANCH 2, CLEVELAND, OH One of the benefits of being a member of a fraternal society is receiving support in many activities. The Board of Directors had decided to assist the members who attended youth camps — Pictured is Jennifer Andree and Sonya Luschek as Director Ed Szabó presents them with the check to help defray costs of youth camp. Frank Nemeth also received a check. At the April meeting, called to order by President Joseph Kovach, a discussion concerning ways to assist the collection of funds for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty was held. Final decision was postponed in order to plan to have a project together with the other branches of the Cleveland area.. It was decided that meetings will be held on the second Sunday of every month, immediately following the late morning church service. At the May meeting, reports were given of the District meeting attended by Director and Mrs. Ed Szabó and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Vizsolyi. Plans to attend the seminar conducted by Joseph Tegze, National Director of Sales were also discussed. Plans were discussed to hold a raffle for a money making project for the Statue of Liberty and Scholarship funds. The next meeting will be called for June 9th. Edward Szabó, Secretary Kossuth Renovation Fund report — The total amount received, as of May 19, 1985 was $13,068. President of the United Hungarian Societies of Cleveland, László Kernes (fraternal coordinator of the HRFA) reported that the project engineer has projected that the renovation will take some 3 months to complete. All three HRFA branches in Cleveland spear-headed the drive for funds and wish to express the gratitude of the committee to all Federation members who sent in donations! BRANCH 3, FAIRPORT HARBOR, OH At the meeting held on May 21, the following were elected officers. Margaret Markus, president; Elizabeth Pucsok, vice-president; Rev. Louis Med- gyesi, secretary; Julie Katona, treasurer. The old officers were thanked for their work in the last year, and the re-elected and new officers were welcomed and congratulated. A discussion of some projects that would support student aid and the Bethlen Home were discussed. The Federation project for the year — helping with the restoration of the Statue of Liberty was also mentioned. Members will be contacted to assist in raising donations. Leslie H. Katona BRANCH 13, PASSAIC, NJ At the February 10th meeting in Passaic, Branch 13 elected the following officers for 1985: Stephen Tasi, president; Maria Tasi, vice-president; Wendy Tegze, secretary.
