Vargo, Vice President-Secretry, HRFA Installing Officer. The regular session of the Ohio Fraternal Con­gress was held on October 12-14, 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Marriott. During the first session the Fraternal Insurance Counsellors (FTC) chaptermade presentations with an address by William A. Lamm, General Agent, Aid Association for Lutherans at the luncheon meeting. It was stressed that continuing education in the life insurance industry must be of utmost importance to all field workers. It was further sug­gested that the home office give this matter their highest priority due to the competition facing the agents. The Saturday evening banquet was well attended (and fraternal fellowship was enjoyed by all.). And a program sponsored by the Ukraininan National Association dance group was very entertaining. Reports were given at the business session which concluded with the installation of the officers. The installing officer was Vice President-Secretary Var­go and László V. Kernes, Fraternal Coordinator was installed as the President for the 1984-85 term. Our best wishes are extended to Brother Kernes and his officers for a most successful year in leading the Ohio Fraternal Congress. E. Vargo BRANCH NEWS Robert H. Holdaway, IV is the youngest member of Branch #149, Tonawanda, NY, and the fifth Holdaway in the branch. Thanks to Mrs. E. Ria Holdaway, who has been a member since 1952. Over the years, Mrs. Holdaway has insured her family, her grand-children and now has insured her great grand-child. Robert was born in Tonawanda, NY but at present lives at the Naval Station in Norfolk, VA. We are most happy to welcome Robert into the family of the HRFA. God bless baby Robert, his parents, and his great grand-mother who thought of such a nice act of love for her great grand-child! Needed — more grandparents to do likewise. E. Petty Shaker Heights High School leads Ohio and is the 17th in the nation in the number of National Merit Scholar­ship Semi-finalists with 23. On the football team are four of those bright stu­dents, including Steven Marshalko, a two-way tack­le. “It’s nice to have the type of kid who can tackle academics and athletics and do a nice job with both,” says A1 Raymond, Red Raider football coach. “It’s not easy.” Marshalko, a member of branch #2 since birth, is playing his second season of varsity ball. “I’m thinking of Yale and want to study medicine,” says Marshalko. The entire Marshalko family, Steve and Helen Mar­shalko and sister Susan are members of HRFA. Congratulations! E.
