The Plenary Session was adjourned at 9:30 P.M. The Convention proceeded into the meetings of the standing comittees. 22) Plenary Session was reconvened at 4:45 P.M. At the request of the President, the chairmen of the standing committees gave their respective progress reports. 23) 'Phe meeting was adjourned at 5:00 P.M., after which President Imre Bertalan conducted the evening devotions. III. T hird Day, September 19, 1984 23) President opened the plenary session at 9:00 A.M. Rev. Stefan Torok conducted the morning devotions. President Imre Bertalan eulogized the late branch managers and many members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, who died in the Lord during the past four years. The Convention stood in silent prayer in their blessed memory. 24) The roll-call was read by the secretary. All 71 delegates were present. President Bertalan introduced all guests present. 25) The Minutes of the previous day’s plenary session was read and approved. Delegates Margaret Saltzer, John doth and Albert Bacho were requested by the President to attest the minutes with their signatures. 26) At the request of the President the chairmen of the standing committees gave their respective committee’s progress reports. The Plenary Session adjourned at 9:30 A.M. The Convention proceeded into the meetings of the standing committees. 27) President opened the afternoon plenary session at 1:30 P.M. 28) At the request of the President the chairmen of the three standing committees reported that their tasks had been completed, and they are ready to present their reports to the Convention. 29) Vice-President William Szuch, chairman of the Administrative Committee introduced Edward Szabó and requested him to present the report of the Committee. The entire minutes of the Administrative Committee were read and attached as EXHIBIT IX of these minutes. a) The Convention unanimously approved that application to waive premiums must be received by the Home Office within one year following the disability. No dues shall be refunded for more than one year from the date of report. b) The Convention unanimously approved that the interest on all new certificate loans are at 6 per cent. c) The Convention unanimously ratified that issue age has been raised by the Board of Directors to age seventy. d) The Convention acknowledged that the administrative Committee rejected the letter of Antal Viczian dated August 30, 1984 as a personal attack upon our national Vice-President Secretary and noted that Dr. Antal Viczian publicly apologized. e) The Convention unanimously approved with thanks and appreciation the report of the Medical Director. f) The Convention approved the Non-Contributory Pension Plan retroactive Jan. 1, 1983. The National Officers abstained. g) The Administrative Committee unanimously recommended not to accept the Deferred Compensation Plan for the Board of Directors. The recommendation of the Administrative Committee was unanimously approved. h) The Convention unanimously approved the resolution of the Board of Director’s meeting of September 6, 1984 regarding payment of dividends in 1985. i) The Convention unanimously approved the allocation of twenty-five cents per monthly premium, per certificate for altruistic purposes. j. The Convention unanimously accepted the report of Vice-President Secretary Elmer Vargo and relieved him of his responsibilities for 1980-1983 period and commended him for a job well done. k) The Convention approved the report of the Administrative Committee with thanks for the work accomplished. 30) Vice-President William Aros, chairman of the Executive and Organization Committee introduced Andrew Peclet and requested him to present the report of the said committee.
