BRANCH NO. 21 — TOLEDO, OHIO Bethlen Home Sunday Branch No. 21 began it’s 85th year celebration with Church Services held at Calvin United Church of Christ on Oct. 11, 1981. Two services, the Hungarian, at 9:30 A.M., and the English, at 10:45 A.M., were well attended. Hungarian hymns were sung at both services. The Rev. Imre Bertalan, President of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, gave beautiful sermons. He emphasized the part the people of Toledo had had in the beginnings of the Federation. He told of the sixty years of the Bethlen Home: how it began, and how it is growing. To the people of Toledo, the Bethlen Home has become a reality and a point of great joy. Stephen Molnár /2nd child enrolled in Branch 21/; his grandson, Jed Molnár - youngest child in Branch 21: Louis Sendi, oldest /in years/ member in Branch 21. During the sermon, the historical importance of Toledo was emphasized. It was here that the first National Offices were located. It was here that the spirit of fraternal- ism was nurtured under the leadership of many dedicated workers and the long-time Secretary, Mr. Stephen Molnár. Immediately following the Church Celebration, Fed­eration members, their families and church friends went to Calvin Hall for a formal reception in honor of the presi­dent, the Rev. Imre Bertalan. After a brief welcome, the Rev. Bertalan was introduced by Miss Ethel R. Molnár. The president spoke briefly about the importance of main­taining our heritage. He and Mrs. Bertalan then mingled among the people, causing much rejoicing, enjoying great fellowship. The beautifuly decorated serving table had a great variety of Magyar pastries, made and donated by Federa­tion members. Coffee, tea, and punch was served. The centerpiece arrangement of red, white, and green flowers attracted everyones’ attention. It was placed, first on the Lords’ Table in the sanctuary, and then on the table in Cal­lu Committee — Betty Fejes, her daughter Sharon, Stephen Molnár, Bethy Bacho, son Alan Bacho, Ella Sendi, Louis Sendi, Ethel Molnár, Director and John Bacho. vin Hall, in memory of Mr. Stephen Molnár, an officer of the Federation for over forty years. Attending the reception were over 130 members. The oldest active member present was Mr. Louis Sendi, and the youngest member was John Edward Molnár, great- grandson of Molnár Bácsi. Everyone present declared the Celebration a delight­ful meeting. Many individuals expressed a desire to meet more often, and to make a visit to Ligonier.
