This tradition has been carried on for many years for the benefit of our charitable institution', the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The debutantes were escorted by their fathers and introduced to the guests. This was followed by the traditional dance with their fathers, and later in the evening joining in the Grand March. It is ever gratifying to see the dedication and devotion of the Guild members in their untiring efforts to support the Bethlen Home. Our guests are most thankful for the thoughtfulness of these ladies as the proceeds of this affair will assist them to continue the many programs and activities of the Home, and bring enjoyment to the residents. The President of the Women’s Guild is Mr*. Betty Galagny, and the debutante preparations were handled by Mrs. Rose Kaul. The colorfully decorated Bethlen Hall was filled to capacity. An enjoyable evening of dancing and fellowship was highlighted by the melodious music filling the air. Our Bethlen Home was represented by the Administrator, Rev. Paul Kovács, whose daughters, Eva and Ruth were debutantes. The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, Washington D. C., was represented by the Vice President-Secretary, Elmer E. Vargo whose daughter Diane was also a debutante. Others from the Federation were William Aros and William Szuch, Vice Presidents; Charles Modory, Director; Dr.Stephen Szabó, Honorary Vice President; and Dawn D. Ward, Section Manager. All were accompanied by their spouses. This is the social event of the year in the community, and we wish the Women’s Guild Officers and members continued success in the future. 17
