keeping a promise to those in the future.” And as I say this, I consider this as the “Mission” of both the Home and church, our doors must be kept open to our elderly in need irrespective of ability to pay, especially to the elderly members of our churches. The original mission of the founders of the Home must be sustained. Gifts will help relieve the worry and anxiety of many who wonder what will happen to them when their resources fall short of costs. We want to assure them they will “be taken care of”. The degree to which this can continue depends upon the support of churches and interested individuals. In our service we offer a lifetime agreement which provides gracious and healthy retirement living and priority transfer to the nursing home when needed. Consider your retirement possibilities in our Bethlen Retirement Center. Today people are living longer, they are healthier, they are eating better, taking better care of themselves and they are enjoying a fuller more active retirement. Ideas about retirement housing have changed and in most cases for the better, and it is about time! One thing the Golden Agers don’t want is the day- in day-out responsibility of home ownership. One consideration can be an apartment which probably gives more time for personal freedom but affords nothing in the way of future security or safety features. Condominiums are acceptable alternatives for today, but what of tomorrow, if needs will be changed? A third alternative for retirement is ours. Many charitable and profit organizations are offering this kind of living today. Many still are not more than an “old folks home”. Many new and desirable residential retirement housing are making an appearance throughout the United States. Slowly people are discovering the value economically and security-wise of these retirement types of living because they are designed to meet both present and future needs of the third age citizens. Ours is one such community. If you are ready to give up the responsibility of home ownership. If your house is too big and too expensive to maintain, the hours of lawn care and all that goes with it, and if you want to enjoy the years ahead secure in the knowledge that should needs change, your living won’t be interrupted by another move. Then come and see our model apartment and check our extraordinary plan for an active, independent, secure happy retirement. We believe in our program strongly enough to invite you to compare it to your present housing, financially and every other way. You don’t have to give up a thing you are not ready to give up. You will still have privacy in your own apartment furnished with your own favorite things, you are still free to come and go as you choose and for as long as you choose. On the basis of our heritage you will have a guaranteed future, security even if needs change, and even in the event of financial reverses, you have the security of the future with us. For 60 years the Bethlen Home has been a place of serving and living with God and His people. Visitors from Cleveland with Rev. and Mrs. P. Kovács and Vice Presdent-Secretary Elmer E. Vargo. 4
