His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nagy, Sr., founding members of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne. Charles Nagy, Jr., too, was a lifelong member of the same church. He served his congregation in various offices, such as assistant elder, church councilman, but even beyond the call of the duties of these offices, he was an active member of his church’s different organizations. “Charlie” was always available when his church needed his help. Charles Nagy and his wife, the former Ethel Damay were married on December 8th, 1945, and spent 34 happy years in the bonds of holy matrimony. Their daughter, Charlene is married to Robert Cross, Jr., their son “Little Charlie” was always the pride and joy of his grandfather. Charlie served his country in the Army four years, four months and four days during World War II, half of this time overseas. In civilian life he was employed by US Steel, Duquesne Plant as a motor inspector engineer, for more than 43 years.
