for a thousand years should be in Hungary for its people to cherish.” Mr. Csanad Toth was the translator. Mr. Vance credited the U. S. ambassador with a key role in bringing about the return of the Crown. He stated that the Hungarian government had made “substantial progress” in the performance of human rights and family reunification. He characterized the U. S.-Hungarian relations as “very good”. He further maintained that the eventual granting the most- favored nation status to Hungary seemed “quite good.” The Crown is now temporarily displayed in the National Museum. Did the long journey of the Holy Crown and its controversial return bring peace and satisfaction? The answer until date is NO. Bitter and tempermental discussions still continue, controversial articles are still being published in the American and the Hungarian news media. Dr. Zoltán Beky as the National President of the American Hungarian Federation presented citations to Honorable Robert J. Dole, U. S. Senator in recognition of his distinguished services rendered for the Holy Crown of Hungary; and to the Honorable Edward J. Patten, U. S. Congressman in recognition of his distinguished services rendered for the Transylva- nia-Hungarians’ human rights. Bishop Beky also gave awards as the co-president of the Transylvania World Federation in recognition of their distinguished services rendered for the TWF and the Transylvanian-Hun- garians Human Rights to Rt. Rev. Arpad George, president of the HRFA; Mr. John Taba, president and Mr. Sándor Altorjay, vice-president of the “Kolozsvár” Washington Branch of the TWF. Arpad George, Elmer E.
