From our Soutli Norwalk, Connecticut Branch No. 52 we received the report that the Branch donated $50.00 to Rev. Zoltán Szabó at his installation banquet. Rev. Szabó is also the chaplain of Branch No. 52. The members of the Branch donated $100.00 toward the support of the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pa. The Branch holds its monthly meetings in one of the meeting rooms of the church. The Branch contributed $15.00 toward the Sunday School Christmas party of the congregation. On September 24 the church celebrated its 85th anniversary. The President of the HRFA delivered the Hungarian sermon at the anniversary worship service. He also was the Master of Ceremony at the anniversary banquet. Mr. William Sontra, the President of Branch No. 52 gave the church a check in the amount of $100.00 and a check of $25.00 to the Student Aid and Loan Fund of the HRFA. At the banquet recognition and thanks were expressed to the HRFA for its fraternal activities and the charitable services of the Bethlen Home. Mrs. Anna R. Sala. manager of our Akron Branch No. 165 reported that the members participated in the local Hungarian Ethnic programs. Lnder the leadership of Dr. Arpad F. Banda the Hungarians in Akron displayed the customs, arts and handworks at the E. J. Thomas Performing Arts Building of the Lniversitv of Akron. On October 7th, the Hungarian American Club had its annual Grape Festival. The following juvenile members participated: Christopher Coveil, Michael Covell, Janice Gyökér, Steven J. Gyökér, Sándor Jakab, Mary Ann Nagy, John S. Nagy and Natalie Vankos. They all performed very well to the delight of all the guests. A thank you letter was written by the Activity Director of the Bethlen Home to Mr. and Mrs. W illiam Nag}', Miss Dawn Jones, Mrs. Andrew Lenart, Mr. and Mrs. Szilassy for the lovely contributions made by them and the members of our Pittsburgh Branches No. 6 and No. 15 toward the success of tbc Bethlen Home's Bazaar. The members of the Branch also worked hard for the various projects of the Pittsburgh Grace Lutheran Church Bazaar held on November 11th. Charter Flight From our New Brunswick, New Jersey Branch No. 3-02 we received the report that many members on October 7th attended the 65th anniversary celebration of the Hungarian American Athletic Club. Arrangements are made to organize a Hungarian Gourmet dinner for the benefit of the Student Aid and Loan Fund of the HRFA. The branch sponsored a charter flight to Hungary organized by the “Travel Guide” with the KLM Airlines. Among the participants of the charter flight were Director George Dózsa and his family, László Lipoczky, President of Branch No. 302 and Mr. William B. Puskas, New Jersey Area Manager. A similar charter flight was organized during the past years to Vienna and Budapest by Mr. Frank A. Dance, Section Manager of Bethlehem, Pa. The chartered flights had become popular fraternal events to the pleasure of the members of our Bethlehem Branch No. 5. We were pleased to hear the good news that Mrs. Onerva K. Puskas received a Master’s Degree in Food and Science from the Rutgers University. She is the wife of Mr. William B. Puskas, Area Manager. She is the manager of the Analytical Department of Devro, fnc., an affiliate of the Johnson and Johnson Company. Congratulations! Mr. Joseph F. Tegze the manager of our Passaic Branch No. 13 reports that our national theme “Fraternalism is a Family Affair” was the key and main force for the members at the Valentine Dance, May Dinner, Summer Picnic, Hungarian Festival, Food and Pastry Sale, Sick visitations, even at the wake and funeral services.
