with the presence of many ministers from the local area. We thank the branch managers for responding to the invitation of our National Secretary by driving many miles to be present. After the four National Officers reports Rev. Paul Kovács administrator extended the greetings of the Bethlen Home. He thanked the branch managers for sponsoring annual dinner-dances in the area and donating the proceeds to the Bethlen Home. He asked the branch managers to sponsor a dinner-dance in the fall and give a helping hand at the bazaar in Ligonier scheduled for August 26th. He thanked Pastor Hies for the Christmas gift of the Women’s Club of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, Pa. He also thanked the members of the First Hungarian Reformed Church in McKeesport for periodically visiting the Hungarian elderly people in the Bethlen Home. Their personal visits, conversations, gifts, compassion, concern and comforting words mean so much to the mental health of the elderly persons. The National Officers praised Mr. Joseph Molnár, Jr., District Manager for his 1977 overproduction of $100,000. He was a production contest award winner. We were concerned about his health but thank God he recovered from the pressure which goes with building a new house and the extra work of moving into the new home. The President and Secretary were happy to report that he not only met his 1978 up to date quota but already reached an overproduction of a substantial amount. Credit was also given to Mrs. Molnár for her contribution in the branch and fraternal activities. She took most of the load and responsibility of sponsoring the last dinner-dance and she was asked and encouraged to do the same this year. May God bless Mr. and Mrs. Molnár to perform their dedicated fraternal activities in the future. Nicholas and Betty Bado have been lifelong members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. Their three sons also are members. Recently, Jeffrey C. Bado, their middle son, was accepted to the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old West- bury, Long Island. Jeff will spend the next four years studying medicine. A Cum Laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo Jeff is a graduate student at Roswell Park Memorial Institute studying Natural Sciences. He received his Master of Science degree. At the Hungarian United Church of Christ of Buffalo, New York Mr. Imre Kovach, Jeffs late grandfather, took the responsibility of the managing branch position of the HRFA, a position he held for 21 years. Mrs. Rose K. Nagy, the manager of our 6, 15 and 361 branches in the Homestead and Pittsburgh areas sent me the report of her many activities as branch manager. The branch activities are coordinated with the activities scheduled for the Homestead and Pittsburgh congregations. The churches have their dinner parties, fund raising raffles, bake sales, bazaars and other social activities. When they are short of help and need extra services, they turn to her for help. Her services are always available and whenever extra help is needed she uses her car to pick up the extra helping hands from her branch members. Funerals have become problems to the families. Flowers have to be ordered by the branch or a donation be given to a favored charity. Elderly people must be driven to the funeral parlors and churches for funeral services. Following the funeral service refreshments are served to the persons returning from the cemetery. A kitchen crew must be organized. Food purchased. Arrangements made for preparation and serving. The elderly people depend for these services on the branch manager in whom they have their trust and complete confidence. The branch manager must baby sit for the funeral wake services free of charge. Otherwise the children of the deceased member would be unable to be present. The branch manager must drive the relatives and friends of the elderly guests of the Bethlen Home to Ligonier, Pa. to visit their relatives and friends. This again is done free of charge. Her branches will participate in making the Bethlen Home bazaar on August 26 a success. It means many weeks of home work for the members to prepare the gift items. After the bazaar her branches plan to participate in sponsoring a dinner-dance for the benefit of the Bethlen Home and the Student Aid and Loan Fund. A dedicated branch manager’s work consist of not only collecting the monthly dues, servicing the policies, helping the promotional work of the District Manager, but also giving personal self- denial fraternal services to the members when they are in need. We praise God for having such dedicated branch managers as Mrs. Rose K. Nagy. 5
