lege and former POW in Vietnam. Upon his return to the U.S. he was astonished and dismayed at the deteriation in our Society. He is working very hard through the National Fraternal Congress to have all of the member societies sponsor campaigns to avoid certain TV programs which may be deemed to be offensive and detrimental to traditional family life. This possible clout through our various organizations may have enough effect to show the dismay of the majority regarding TV programming. In order to make this happen, we solicit the assistance of every member to try and get at least one new member to join us before the end of 1977. This will also enable us to continue our many charitable acts. We stress and emphasize that the Insurance protection we provide to the family is a much needed service. By joining a Fraternal Organization, each member has the right to be elected as a delegate or hold National Office according to the By-Laws. They may partake in contests for our Scholarship and Student Loan Fund assisting our members attending colleges. Possibly through our endeavors and accomplishments we can set an example which might help us get back on an even kneel and show the world that we truly believe, Fraternalism is a Family Affair. C. 20016 LOUIS NAGY, Administrator of the Bethlen Home: “WHERE CHRIST SHOULD BE BORN . . ___in BETHLEHEM OF JUDEA.” Mt. 2:4,5 I read a letter written by a Hungarian prisoner of war who settled in Siberia after the first world war. He wrote to his brother who lives in the United States. He wrote: “It doesn’t matter so much where a man lives because this earth is sacred everywhere.” He wrote this statement because he was homesick in his Russian environment. He consoled himself with the fact that the earth is sacred in Hungary, in the U.S.A., in Siberia — everywhere — because it is still God’s earth. Why is the earth sacred? Because once God walked upon it. He conquered it by his cross and bought it with His blood — the earth is His and this is why it is sacred. There are many famous places in this world where great men were born, lived, fought and died but the most famous place on earth is a little town on a hillside surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, six miles south of Jerusalem — this town is Bethlehem of Judea where Ruth gleaned her barley, where King David was born and where the fires of his homesickness could only be quenched with the refreshing waters of the wells of Bethlehem. This town has been and will remain forever famous because God visited our planet earth here and at that time the invisible, incomprehensible God became flesh and dwelt among us. He descended to Bethlehem. Christ was born in Bethlehem, but He must be born in every human heart on earth. Only those whose hearts have allowed Christ to be born in them can have a joyous Christmas. This is my last Christmas letter from the Bethlen Home. In February I will go to a small church in Bethlehem, Pa. By the grace of God I will give my faithful and devoted services to the members of a small congregation. With the closing of the Children’s Home, the Bethlen Home will not cease to exist. We ask for the continued support, the good will and for the charitable donations of our dear brethren. Our little church on the hill top looks beautiful because we put on a new roof and installed white 10
